The patient sustained a severe traumatic injury to the right foot following an accident. Subsequently, the wound showed features of secondary infection, including purulent foul-smelling discharge, surrounding tissue inflammation, and necrotic (devitalized) tissue. The patient underwent surgical debridement for removal of necrotic tissue and control of local infection. Appropriate broad-spectrum antibiotic therapy was initiated and tailored according to clinical response.
The patient has been advised to continue with regular wound assessment, sterile dressing changes, antibiotic therapy as prescribed, limb elevation, and adequate nutritional support to promote wound healing and prevent further complications. Close follow-up is recommended to monitor wound progress and signs of infection.
