Mithun Manhas has been elected as the new President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), becoming the first person from Jammu & Kashmir to assume this prestigious role. He succeeds Roger Binny, who recently resigned from the position.
A former Indian cricketer and prolific domestic player, Mithun Manhas has represented Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir in Ranji Trophy and has also been part of the Indian Premier League. Jammu, Sept 25: Aneesha Sharma of Mission Olympics Shooting Academy Jammu (MOSAJ) has brought laurels to Jammu & Kashmir by securing the 3rd position in the India Junior Rifle Shooting Rankings after Trials 5 & 6, as released by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI).
With an impressive score of 630.4, Aneesha’s achievement marks a proud moment for the Union Territory and highlights the growing talent in the shooting fraternity of J&K.
Dilbag Singh, Founder Patron JKRA and former DGP J&K, extended his congratulations to Aneesha for her discipline and determination. Compliments also poured in from President Surinder Singh Sodhi, Chairman Kuldeep Jamwal, General Secretary DySP Sharat Chandar Singh, and Treasurer Arun Mansotra, who lauded her outstanding performance.

In the semi-final match, District Reasi showcased outstanding skills and defeated District Udhampur by a convincing margin of 4-0, securing their place in the finals.

In the final clash, District Jammu put up a strong performance and emerged victorious by defeating District Reasi 2-0, thereby clinching the championship title.

Sports Activities and Donation of Sports Goods by Teaching Staff held at PM Shri HSS Aghar Jitto under Sewa Parv

Reasi, September 26: As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv celebrations, PM Shri HSS Aghar Jitto organized a series of sports activities including Volleyball, Kabaddi, and Badminton matches in the institution.

The event was graced by Sh. Dara Singh, Principal, HSS Aghar Jitto, who interacted with the players and highlighted the significance of Sewa Parv—an initiative of the District Administration aimed at fostering values of service, discipline, and community spirit among students.

On the occasion, the teaching staff of the school launched a donation campaign. Sports equipment, toys, books for children, water bottles, and a harmonium for CWSN students were donated, with special contribution from Priyanka Dogra. Their generous gesture added a meaningful dimension to the celebrations.

The programme was further enriched by the presence of Vandana Dogra, Sushma Devi, Sishu Bala, Sonali Bali, Priyanka Dogra, Chanchal Devi, Neelam Kumari, Shiv Dutt Sharma, Sakshi Sharma, Rahul Sharma, Ram Paul, Raman Kumar, Anjuma Akther, Monika Kapoor, Sunayna Kapoor, Shalli Devi, Surbhi Vaid, Renu Devi, Akhil Manhas, Meenakshi Sharma, Samita Jamwal, Pooja Sharma, and others, who motivated and encouraged the participants.

Road to School (RTS) Project Organizes Sports Kit distribution.
The Road to School (RTS) Project successfully held a Sports Kit Distribution program today at DIET Reasi. A total of 45 schools, including Primary and Middle Schools of Reasi zone, received sports kits under this initiative.
The event was graced by esteemed officials from DIET Reasi, including HODs Sh. Narinder Kumar, Sh. Virender Dutta, and Zonal Education Officer Reasi, Sh. Suresh Gandotra. The distribution was carried out by the RTS J&K Manager Mr Asaf Hussain, who, along with the officials, handed over the Sports kits to the representatives of the concerned schools.
Through this initiative, the RTS Project aims to promote sports activities and physical Education among students, encouraging holistic development alongside academics.
This marks another significant step by the RTS Project in strengthening the sports culture and supporting schools across Reasi district.

DC Reasi Inaugurates Inter-District Division Level Wushu U17 & U19 Girls Championship at Indoor Sports Complex, Reasi

The Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS), Reasi, organized the Inter-District Division Level Wushu U17 & U19 Girls Championship at the Indoor Sports Complex, Reasi

On the occasion, Ms. Nidhi Malik, Deputy Commissioner Reasi, graced the event as the Chief Guest.

The District Officer YSS formally welcomed the Chief Guest and briefed the gathering about the championship. He also extended a warm welcome to all the participating districts of Jammu Province.

The Chief Guest, Ms. Nidhi Malik, congratulated the young participants and lauded their dedication and enthusiasm. She encouraged the budding athletes to display their skills with commitment, discipline, and true sportsmanship. She further emphasized that such platforms not only promote physical fitness but also empower girls to excel in every sphere of life.
While addressing the participants, Ms. Malik announced that District Reasi has initiated “Sewa Parv”. She underlined the importance of developing the true spirit of service, noting that “Sewa Parv is a national initiative to celebrate the spirit of Sewa (service) as the truest form of patriotism, contributing to the end goal of Viksit Bharat. Anchored in the Ministry of Culture’s guiding vision of ‘Vikas bhi, Virasat bhi’ (Development as well as Heritage), the initiative seeks to weave together cultural pride with a deep sense of social responsibility.”

Reasi- The Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS), Reasi, organized Inter-School District Level U19 Trials for Cricket, Weightlifting, and Football at General Zorawar Singh Stadium and *Indoor Sports Complex, Mari.

The trials were organized under the supervision of Sh. Tarsem Singh, DYSSO Reasi, and witnessed enthusiastic participation of students from different zones of District Reasi. Young athletes showcased their talent, sportsmanship, and competitive spirit during the event.

The selected players will represent District Reasi in the forthcoming Divisional and State Level Competitions. Shri Tarsem Singh appreciated the efforts of the students and encouraged them to excel both in sports and academics. He further reiterated that the Department of YSS is committed to nurturing budding talent and providing them with the right opportunities and exposure.
Trails were conducted by officials deputed by DYSS Reasi,(Cricket trails )Opinder Pal Singh, Goutam Kundal, Vikas Singh, Ankush Sharma under the supervision Of Kuldeep Raj.
Weightlifting trails were conducted by Arun Dev Singh, Mohd. Riaz assisted by Manjeet Singh and Arpita Mahajan under the supervision of Asha Devi (ZPEO Reasi).
Football Trails conducts by Rahul Bakshi and Coordinated by Jagdev Singh.
