Some people use drugs for recreation without ever experiencing negative consequences of addiction. The addiction to substances have caused problems at work, home, schools or in relationships leaving one feeling isolated, helpless or ashamed. Drug abuse naturally trickles into the younger generation – a generation refusing to be left out. Illicit drug use among the youth, especially teenagers at present is an impending threat to our state. In order to address this increasing problem in our state J & K Police set up a Drug De Addiction & Rehabilitation Center in April 2013 in DPL, Gulshan Ground Jammu. In March 2024, the Center moved to new facility in Channi Himmat (Bye Pass) Jammu.
