*HOW TO PROCEED IF ANYONE TURN POSITIVE FOR COVID*
1) WHAT TO DO IF I TURN POSITIVE FOR COVID 19?
Once a person feels symptomatic—he/she should immediately isolate themselves from the family members and self quarantine themselves. On 3rd/4th day of symptom blood investigations may reveal some abnormality, CT scan may also turn abnormal by that time and after 5th/6th day RT PCR may be positive. So strict isolation during this investigative phase is very much essential to prevent family members contracting the disease.
Once RT PCR is positive(From Govt lab or COVID 19 testing designated lab reports) JMC will approach the person and would ask them for treatment. At the same time Microcontainment zone of quarantine will be created for that family and surrounding for 14 days. If it is Tenament 3-4 houses in surrounding may be quarantined. If its apartment, That particular floor will be quarantined for 14 days. Residence and surrounding areas may be sanitized by JMC or may be requested.
Now the Patient is left to choice of treatment according to ICMR guidelines depending on severity of symptoms of patient.
At Jamnagar, Patient willing for hospitalization has two options: COVID designated Government hospital or Private hospitals
Those patients with mild symptoms, with no comorbid conditions and after Physician evaluation , can also opt for HOME CARE PLAN offered by Government designated COVID hospital depending on their compliance.
2) WHAT ABOUT FAMILY MEMBERS?
All family members or contacts will have to remain quarantined for 14 days as per government guidelines.
3) HOW LONG POSITIVE PATIENT WILL REMAIN HOSPITALISED?
Depending on the severity of symptoms and laboratory parameters, treating consultant will guide about the hospitalization stay and will discharge according to ICMR guidelines or depending on clinical cure. Re reporting of RTPCR and turning it negative is not required.
