The State-Level Indian Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition 2025 was successfully held on 21st December 2025 at Bari Maidan Club House, Sakchi, Jamshedpur. The event was meticulously planned and executed by Team Indian Abacus Jharkhand.
The competition was graced by Dr. Nikhil Kumar, Scientist, CSIR–National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML), Jamshedpur, as the Chief Guest. In his inspiring address, Dr. Kumar motivated the young participants and appreciated their dedication, discipline, and exceptional mental abilities.
The primary objective of the competition was to bring students onto a common platform to assess and enhance their concentration, imagination, and mental agility in performing arithmetic calculations. The event strongly highlighted the importance of mental mathematics in overall cognitive development.
All participating children were honored with medals and trophies, recognizing their efforts and achievements and encouraging them to strive for excellence.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sanjeev Singh, State Head, Indian Abacus Jharkhand, stated that the students had been preparing rigorously for the competition over the past three months. He emphasized that the competition is not merely about speed and accuracy in mathematics, but also plays a vital role in enhancing focus, imagination, mental ability, and overall confidence—essential life skills that benefit children throughout their lives.
He further congratulated all winners and participants, describing the event as a truly wonderful and enriching experience. The competition showcased young prodigies from across Jharkhand demonstrating remarkable arithmetic skills and received overwhelming appreciation from parents who witnessed the event.
Mr. Singh also conveyed his sincere gratitude to Indian Abacus Founder and Inventor, Dr. Basheer Ahmed, for his visionary leadership, dedication, and continuous guidance, which has inspired educators and students alike to achieve excellence.
