This property was purchased by Bengalee Association, Bihar (then including Jharkhand) in the 1970s, by the fund raised from the bengali speaking people of Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal and other places. Association had a vision to develop the place as a BHASHA-TEERTHA. On this vision the work is going on since then. Recently, the Associations of Bihar and Jharkhand has formed a 'Vidyasagar Smritiraksha
Committee' & 'Nandan Kanan Managing Committee' to supervise the developmental emdeavours being undertaken there by the two associations and their branches. For recent, Special mention may be made of Jamshedpur branch or the eminent bengalees of Jamtara. A girls' school is running. So many other things are there to be done for this Vidyasagar project. To quote the draft byelaws of the Smritiraksha Committee "To commemorate the services that Vidyasagar rendered during his life time, it was decided
to restart the Vidyasagar Middle School, Charitable Homeopathic Clinic and different
activities (such as Old Age Home, Library etc.) and to spread the philosophy of Vidyasagar
throughout the country and abroad." Everyone may come forward and help.
