It is good news that people of Tentulipadar village (who had been tortured by Forest officials for decades) of Kiapadar GP in Thuamul Rampur block got title for forest land as provisioned under FRA-2006 after a long fight of more than 30 years. ANTODAYA continue to stand with the villagers since 1995 and fought for asserting rights of the villagers.
Recently they have received title over community forest and now the Individual titles. Efforts put by our team members of that time, especially Rabinarayan Singh, Chakradhar Pujhari, Sanjeeb Kumar Satapathy, and Advocate friends Shri Sudhanshu Kumar Nanda, Shri Dibya Ranjan Bohidar and Shri Debendranath Bag brought colours after a long
ANTODAYA had facilitated the villagers to fight for their cause at different forums including High court of Orissa, National Human Rights Commission, District Court and many more
But it is unfortunate that, today's administration has been sidelining the past efforts and giving credibility to some other people who jumped into the job recently after getting contract from Odisha Government
Still we feel proud that, people of Tentulipadar are not encroachers now, they are TITLE HOLDERS under FRA-2006

Tentulipadar, a tribal village in Kiapadar GP of Thuamul Rampur block of Kalahandi remained as a Forest unsurveyed village and the villagers face torture and oppression from Forest department for decades. Since 1996 ANTODAYA facilitated the villagers to demand for their rights over Land and forest. After Forest Rights Act 2006 came into force villagers filed their claims many a times but due to treachery of forest officials their claims remained in the cold store. A small progress happened now
Now the villagers have got Community Forest Rights and Community forest Resource rights for 172 hectares of forest land through Mo Jungle Jami campaign. Still Fighting for their rights for Revenue Status of the villages as provisioned under FRA 2006

a case of serious concern where a tribal young man Santosh Kumar Majhi's life is under threat due to carelessness of the Contractor and his employees engaged by Government of Odisha for construction of Road from Nakrundi to Silet in Thuamul Rampur block of Kalahandi.

I met the victim man Santosh Kumar Majhi s/o Masia Majhi of Village- Turibhejiguda, GP-Nakrundi, Thuamul Rampur, Kalahandi at the Hospital bed of DHH, Bhawanipatna and learnt that, on 2 April 2024 while he and his friends were sitting near the road at Kirkicha Chowk of Gunupur GP of Thuamul Rampur block, a Road Roller laden vehicle of Contractor (engaged by Government of Odisha for construction of Nakrundi-Silet Road) crossed the Kirkicha Chowk hitting a big Mango Tree and a big branch of the tree fell upon Santosh Kumar Majhi leaving him seriously. His Spinal Cord and RIB cage bones are precariously fractured.

Now Santosh Kumar Majhi is struggling between Life and Death at the Hospital Bed of DHH Bhawanipatna and unable to move. The MRI scan report says the seriousness of fractures on the Back Bone (Spinal Cord) of Santosh Kumar Majhi
