Eye Tarpan is an ancient Ayurvedic treatment for eye care. "Tarpan" means "nourishment" or "satisfaction," and it involves bathing the eyes with a warm, medicated ghee (clarified butter) or oil.

Benefits of Eye Tarpan:

Benefits
1. Improves vision: Enhances eyesight and reduces eye strain.
2. Relaxes the eyes: Soothes and calms the eyes, reducing fatigue.
3. Reduces dryness: Moisturizes the eyes, alleviating dryness and irritation.
4. Prevents eye diseases: May help prevent or slow the progression of eye diseases like cataracts, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration.

Procedure
1. The patient sits comfortably with their eyes closed.
2. A dam is created around the eyes using a dough or a ring.
3. Warm, medicated ghee or oil is poured into the dam.
4. The patient is asked to open and close their eyes, allowing the liquid to bathe the eyes.
5. The treatment is typically repeated for 5-10 minutes.

Indications
1. Eye strain and fatigue
2. Dry eyes
3. Blurred vision
4. Eye irritation or inflammation
5. Age-related eye diseases

Contraindications
1. Active eye infections
2. Severe eye injuries
3. Recent eye surgery

Eye Tarpan is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that can be performed by an Ayurvedic practitioner or even at home with proper guidance.
