Rationale
The National Policy on Education, 1986 andThe National Curriculum Framework (NCF), 2005 essentially talk about (educator’s and education institutions role in)developing child’s innate abilities and values such as the spirit of inquiry, creativity, objectivity, the courage to question, and an aesthetic sensibility. More than just a concept, commissions and policies have introduced scientific temper as an attitude of logical thinking to be integrated in the classrooms and to be practised in day to day life decisions. Science is an amalgamation of intellectual and practical activities encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation and experimentation. Its relevancy is self evident in relation to the inculcation of inquisitiveness, critical thinking and attainment of knowledge and understanding of the world and surrounding. In real world, students are expected to imply their scientific temper and skills efficiently in fast, flexible and creative manner henceforth generating scientific temperament among students since schooling is a necessity. Proposed Programme
