Meeting at SICOT with Dr. Dror Paley (USA)

After presentation of RRBTT at SICOT Dr Dror Paley showed keen interest regarding new innovation Autogenous (Internal) Bone Grafting Without Incision & Management of bone gap by RRBTT and commented -
“Great work, very innovative technique. Please continue to develop these ideas”.

Dr Dror Paley invited Dr Rakesh Tripathi at his place for breakfast and discussed bone grafting technique RRBTT in length & advised his suggestion to improved it further. He also encouraged to present at AAOS and OTA.

Innovation in innovation (2009) - Dr Rakesh Tripathi MS Mch (Ortho) innovated a new procedure with theme of utilization of bone of entry point of long bones. This entry point bone was excavated with the help of newly made Scoop.
This good amount of bone (5mm x 8mm) block of cortico cancellous in nature then transported to the fracture site before interlocking procedure. This technique opened up a new era as burden of cost of synthetic bone also reduced to zero. This technique is not been done in the world of orthopaedic surgery so far to best of my knowledge.

Dr Rakesh Tripathi received IOACON Sushrut Gold Medal award from President IOA 2009 in presence of Chief Minister of Orrisa hon. Shri Navin Patnaik Ji.

Journey of RRBTT – (Rakesh Remote Bone Transportation Technique)

Started in 2005 when a case of compound grade-Ib severely comminuted fracture lower 1/3rd tibia was supplemented with synthetic bone grafts (G-bone) to enhance osteogenic activity.
This case was presented at IOACON Mumbai in 2005 – thanks to Prof Dr. N.S. Laud MS Mch- FRCS who encouraged me to develop further.
