With the aim of correcting regional imbalances in quality tertiary level healthcare in the country, and attaining self sufficiency in graduate and postgraduate medical education and training the PMSSY planned to set up 6 new AIIMS like institutions in under served areas of the country

A new journey begins at AIIMS Jodhpur.

The January 2026 postgraduate batch was welcomed in an inspiring inaugural session. Chief Guest Padma Vibhushan awardee Dr. D. Nageshwar Reddy, Chairman, Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, inspired young doctors to lead with compassion, uphold ethics, and strive for excellence in patient care.

Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Goverdhan Dutt Puri welcomed the new batch. Guests of Honour Prof. (Dr.) Tejas M. Patel, President, AIIMS Jodhpur, and Prof. Avinash Kumar Agarwal, Director, IIT Jodhpur, highlighted humane care, innovation, and responsibility in medicine.

The initiative strengthened clinical skills to advance pediatric kidney care in Rajasthan.
