→ Central location for better accessibility
• Smart Town Kalain (Drainage + STP)
→ Frequent waterlogging and lack of proper sewage system
🏥 Healthcare
• 100-bedded Hospital at Kalain
→ Patients currently depend on Silchar, causing delay in emergencies
• AIIMS branch at Cachar Paper Mill site
→ Huge unused land can serve entire Barak Valley with advanced care
🚧 Roads & Connectivity
• Bypass Roads at Kalain, Gumra, Digarkhal
→ Severe traffic congestion affecting daily life and trade
• 4-Lane Silchar–Kalain Road
→ High traffic density, frequent accidents, slow movement
• Santipur–Salchapra Bridge over Barak
→ Reduce distance, boost connectivity and economic activity
• New A/B category Railway Station (Bihara–Hilara belt)
→ Growing population with inadequate rail access
