Diet is a very important factor in one's health and wellness. But it is often misunderstood and misinterpreted.

A few (read 2-3) years ago, I was a non-runner... I would not describe myself as an athlete, still not today either... But having completed 3 half marathons in the last 3 years makes me feel proud about myself.
As I step into my 43rd year, this is the best gift I can give myself, to my body and to my family- a healthy and active individual.
Debunking several myths and false beliefs, women can (and should) start some kind of a physical activity once they hit their 30s. And running is an excellent way to start that.
All thanks to my hubby who has been wholly behind my journey and still is!

My second ever half-marathon, improved my previous best by 5 minutes.

Had the usual butterflies for the last one week, almost dropped out due to severe shoulder pull and migraine just the day before... But thanks to my supportive family and mainly my husband that I finally made it to the starting line. The rest was the result of my limited training for the last one and half months!

For someone who has no athletic background, starting the running journey after 40 years of age, just 2 years back with 2 kids and hectic housework, this is a great feeling.

Yes, women can run and should run. Not just the athletic ones, but also moms, office goers and housewives.

Also big thanks to (runners of Kalpakkam/ Anupuram) for the support.

This is just the start... More to come

Overwhelmed to be featured in official video for this year's edition of DRHM in Chennai.

Hence I "stretched" myself to a 2 hr looong run in preparation for the event.

I needed that "๐Ÿ”ฅ" in my legs... or rather the socks ๐Ÿงฆ.. ๐Ÿ˜

Registration starts today... And so does my preparation. Battling my own demons to put up a good time... With support of my husband

Starting strength training, cardio and stretching again.. You can do it too!

Just because something is homemade, it isn't always healthy. Don't fall into this trap. Some of the foods we make at home are sometimes equally bad as that junk food from outside. It is okay once in a while (weekly once). Or less depending on your current health.
And this is excluding the unhealthy fast food from outside.
You still have to know the nutrition basics to bring the best food to the table! One of the biggest culprits in homemade foods is the amount of oil. Learn how to use the right oils or better yet go oil-free cooking to save your arteries and heart โค!!
