High-Resolution Computed Tomography (HRCT) tests are another way of determining the presence of the viral infection in the body. It's a diagnostic tool that involves imaging of the lungs.

Right now, when it's being highly speculated that the new mutant viruses could damage lung function in the earliest of days, lung imaging tests also work to provide a more accurate representation of the severity & spread of the viral infection and prompt to the right course of treatment.

HRCT scans also seldom mention CT severity score, which tells us about the actual lung involvement due to the infection. Different labs go by different readings, with most scores being considered between 1-40 or 1-25. A higher score usually represents greater lung involvement & high COVID severity.

Your body’s like a little furnace. It puts out heat all the time. It comes from your body doing the work that keeps you alive. When it puts out a lot more or a lot less heat than usual, it’s trying to tell you there’s a problem.

How high is too high when it comes to your temperature? Anything above 100.4 F is considered a fever. You may feel terrible, but on the whole, a fever isn’t bad for you. It’s a sign your body is doing what it should when germs invade. It’s fighting them off.

However, if your temperature is 103 F or higher or if you’ve had a fever for more than 3 days, call your doctor. Also call if you have a fever with symptoms like severe throat swelling, vomiting, headache, chest pain, stiff neck or rash.

If your body loses too much heat, it can be very serious, even fatal. Hypothermia is when your body temperature goes below 95 F. You might think of hypothermia as something that only happens when you’re exposed to extremely cold weather for a long time. But it happens indoors, too. Hypothermia is a special concern for new-borns and the elderly.

A fingertip oxygen meter is a fast and easy
way to monitor the oxygen level in your blood.
Pulse oximetry : Oxygen is carried around in your red blood cells by a molecule called haemoglobin. Pulse oximetry measures how much oxygen the haemoglobin in your blood is carrying. This is called the oxygen saturation and is a percentage (scored out of 100). It’s a simple, painless test which uses a sensor / meter placed on your fingertip or earlobe.

People with a lung condition may have a blood oxygen level lower than normal, so pulse oximetry can help to diagnose if there is a problem.

The more the lungs are damaged, the more likely there is to be a problem with oxygen uptake. Pulse oximetry can also be used to measure to how badly a person’s lungs are affected.
