Medical Education Unit of AIIMS Kalyani organised the 2nd Faculty Development Programme on Basics of Medical Education Technologies from 7th - 9th September 2022; with the aim to improve the quality of medical education in our institute by sensitising the medical faculty on newer concepts in teaching and assessment methods. The three-days’ workshop was inaugurated by Prof (Dr) Ramji Singh, Honourable Executive Director in the presence of Dr. Kalyan Goswami, FIC Academics, Prof (Dr) Ajay Mallick Medical Superintendent, Dr. Rekha Dutt Chairperson Medical Education Unit, Resource persons and participants. Twenty sessions on various topics of Medical Education Technologies were taken by trained resource persons of our institute using various teaching learning media, role play, flipped class room, offline and online activities. Fourteen faculty members of AIIMS Kalyani actively participated in the workshop in various activities including individually presenting a seven minutes microteaching session; a time-tested method of improving teaching skills. The feedback given by the participants shows that the workshop has achieved the program objectives. The workshop was successfully concluded with valedictory session. On 3rd August 2022, The Department of Community Medicine and Family Medicine in collaboration with Department of Psychiatry, All India Institute of Medical Sciences Kalyani under the leadership of Executive Director sir, conducted a Training session of Healthcare workers to identify and diagnose Psychoactive substance dependence in the Community at Urban Primary Healthcare - I , RN Colony, Kalyani. Ten ASHA workers and four drug addicts (along with the caregivers) were invited to attend the session.
Dr.Ashish Pundhir highlighted the importance of the training session along with Dr.Sukanto Sarkar & Dr.Aniruddha Basu . Moreover , the The Psychiatric team [Dr.Sukanto Sarkar & Dr.Aniruddha Basu] along with the psychiatric nursing officers trained the healthcare workers to screen addiction patients in community setting and maintain confidentiality of the information. This session is part of ongoing development of Community Deaddiction clinic conceptualized & visioned by Dr. Ashish Pundhir [ Asst. On 5th Aug 2022 , World Breastfeeding Week Concluding session was organised by Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Department of Pediatrics and College of Nursing. On this occasion Chief Guest was Prof.Dr. Kalyan Goswami, FIC, Academics. The session started with an awareness semi- classical Dance on Breastfeeding,thereafter the theme of the year “Step up for Breastfeeding: Educate and Support” was presented. Following that the week long celebration’s overview was given and also the month long training program “preparing Nursing officers as future stakeholders for the lactation management “ was closed with certificates distribution and valedictory session. AIIMS Kalyani has started observing “World breast feeding week 2022” with the theme of “Step Up for breast feeding: Educate and Support”. Various activities to improve awareness of the patients and the health care providers have been planned. The weeklong event was inaugurated on 1st August in presence of Honorable Medical superintendent, FIC academics, Principal of nursing college and head of the departments of Gynecology and Pediatrics. Indian Medicos Organization (IMO) congratulation Congratulate on this achievement. Today MoU has been signed between AIIMS, Kalyani and ICMR, Centre for Ageing & Mental Health, Kolkata (ICMR-CAM) on 19th July 2022 at ICMR Centre at Kolkata. Prof (Dr) Ramji Singh, Executive Director, AIIMS, Kalyani and Dr. Arun Kumar Sharma, Director-in-Charge, ICMR-CAM signed the MoU in the presence of Dr. R S Dhaliwal, Head, NCD Division, ICMR headquarters, New Delhi and Dr. Pushpa Chaudhary Deo, Team Lead (RMNCAH), WHO India along with other dignitaries like Dr. Anil Kumar, Addl. DG, Dte. GHS, MoHFW, GoI, Dr. Debasis Bhattacharyya, DME, WBMES, Govt of West Bengal, Dr. Siddhartha Neogi, DHS, WBHS, Govt of West Bengal and Dr. Raghunath Misra, Principal, Medical College, Kolkata. This programme was conducted during the inaugural programme of ICMR-WHO Collaborative Orientation Workshop on Healthy Ageing & Integrated care for the elderly. The MoU will give opportunity for collaborative research between both the institutes.

Weeklong National Doctors' Day 2022 was celebrated at AIIMS Kalyani from 30th June to 6th July 2022. Following events were held:

1. Felicitation of senior doctors of 75 years and above: Elderly doctors residing nearby and still in practice were felicitated in a special program conducted on the last day of the weeklong event.
2. Selfie with doctors where satisfied patients clicked photographs with their doctors at OPD of the institute.
3. Guest lecture by a renowned psychiatrist on how to deal with stress in medical professional for doctors and medical students.
4. Ek shaam doctor ke naam: Herbal garden and other place of recreation were inaugurated at the institute.

Medical Education Unit of AIIMS Kalyani organised the first Faculty Development Programme, Basics of Medical Education Technologies with the aim to improve the quality of medical education in our institute by sensitising the medical faculty on newer concepts in teaching and assessment methods.
The three-day workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Ramji Singh, Honourable Executive Director in the presence of Prof. Ajay Mallick Medical Superintendent, Dr. Rekha Dutt Chairperson Medical Education Unit, resource persons and participants. Sixteen sessions on various topics of Medical Education Technologies were taken by trained resource persons of our institute. Twenty-four faculty members of AIIMS Kalyani actively participated in the workshop in various activities including individually presenting a seven minutes microteaching session; a time-tested method of improving teaching skills. The workshop was successfully concluded with enhancement in knowledge and teaching learning skills of participants. The workshop is in series of academic events organised by our institute in commemoration of 75 years of Independence.
