In the year 2009, Dr Shashirekha and Dr K Shashidhara Rao started an exclusive Centre for maternity care and Laparoscopic surgeries, as they realized the growing need for quality health care in Kanhangad.
Dr Shashirekha is a well-known Obstetrician and Gynecologist, who has experience in laparoscopic surgeries since 25 years. She has been instrumental in providing round the clock maternity services in Kanhangad region. She is active in social services through Lions club, Kanhangad Town and has been an active member and past president of IMA Kanhangad and Kasaragod Obstetric and Gynecological Society. She has delivered several lectures in the school to educate adolescent girls and has conducted several camps at the rural areas of North Malabar.
Dr K Shashidhara Rao is a well-known anesthesiologist, who has dedicated himself for round the clock patient care with pre and post-surgical management. He is partner of City Nursing Home, Kanhangad and Sunrise Hospital, Kanhangad and does freelance in anesthesia at several hospitals of Kanhangad. He is an active member and past president of IMA Kanhangad, ISA society and Lions Club, Kanhangad Town.
