🌸 friends! A beautiful time of the year is here when the ascend of King Mahabali to earth coincides with the onset of the season of harvest.✨
🌸Celebrate the colorful festival of with joy and love but follow social distancing norms.🌸

✨According to legends, Onam is celebrated to commemorate the arrival of from Patala. The story goes that the demon King who ruled in Kerala was loved by all for his generosity and kindness. This threatened the Gods and they sought Lord ’s help who disguised himself as a poor Brahmin and headed to Kerala. He asked the king to give him land that can be covered within three feet and Mahabali granted his wish. Soon, the Brahmin started to grow in size and covered the sky and earth with his first and second step. Before he could take his third step, the king offered his head for the last step which led him to Patala. However, the king was granted a blessing for his good deeds to visit his people once every year. Onam marks the day of his annual visit to .🌎💚

Chingam, a season for sports, festivities and ritual celebrations, is believed to have originated on this particular day when Lord Vishnu took the avatar of Vaamana and came to the state of King Mahabali and sent him to the nether world.

Onam the harvest festival of Kerala is celebrated in the month of Chingam which corresponds to the month of August or September. One can find people wearing the traditional attires to schools and offices and also the start of the floral design competition to commemorate the Chingam celebrations leading to the state festival of Kerala – Onam.
