3.2 കിലോ ഭാരമുള്ള മുഴകൾ നിറഞ്ഞ വലിയ ഗർഭപാത്രം പൂർണമായും താക്കോൽദ്വാര ശസ്ത്രക്രിയയിലൂടെ നീക്കം ചെയ്തു. പയ്യന്നൂരിലെ മീനാക്ഷിയമ്മ മെമ്മോറിയൽ ആശുപത്രിയിലാണ് അതിസങ്കീർണമായ ഈ ശസ്ത്രക്രിയ നടന്നത്. കോട്ടയത്ത് നിന്നുള്ള ഈ യുവതി ഇത്രയും വലിയ ഗർഭപാത്രം താക്കോൽ ദ്വാര ശത്രക്രിയയിലൂടെ നീക്കം ചെയ്യാൻ സാധിക്കില്ല എന്ന് അവിടെയുള്ള പല ഡോക്ടർമാരും പറഞ്ഞതിനാലാണ് തൻ്റെ സുഹൃത്ത് വഴി അറിഞ്ഞ പയ്യന്നൂരിലെ മീനാക്ഷിയമ്മ മെമ്മോറിയൽ ആശിലുപത്രിയിലെത്തുന്നത്. 4 മണിക്കൂറിലധികം നീണ്ടു നിന്ന ശസ്ത്രക്രിയ കഴിഞ്ഞു യുവതി അടുത്ത ദിവസം തന്നെ ആശുപത്രി വിടുകയും ചെയ്തു. എൻഡോമെട്റിയോസിസ് എന്ന അവസ്ഥ കൂടി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത് ശസ്ത്രക്രിയ കൂടുതൽ സങ്കീർണമാക്കി. താക്കോൽദ്വാര ശസ്ത്രക്രിയ ആയതിനാൽ തന്നെ രക്തസ്രാവം അമിത വേദന തുടങ്ങിയ സങ്കീർണതകൾ ഉണ്ടായില്ല എന്ന് മാത്രമല്ല ശസ്ത്രക്രിയ കഴിഞ്ഞ അടുത്ത ദിവസം തന്നെ ആശുപത്രി വിടുവാനും വിശ്രമം ഇല്ലാതെ ജോലിയിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുവാനും സാധിച്ചു.
3.2 kg uterus filled with fibroids removed via total laparoscopic hysterectomy (complete key hole surgery). Surgery was done at Meenakshiamma Memorial hospital,Payyanur . The patient was a lady from Kottayam. On diagnosing her with fibroids , multiple doctors at Kottayam told her it would be impossible to remove such huge uterus laparoscopically. That is when she got to know about Meenakshiamma Memorial hospital and came here . It took more than 4 hours to complete the surgery and the lady left the hospital the very next day . Presence of a condition called endometriosis made the surgery even more challenging . Laparoscopic surgeries are associated with very low rate of complication such as bleeding , pain etc. Moreover patients can rejoin work immediately following laparoscopic surgeries.
