It is a Christian mission hospital under the diocese of Agra (CNI).It is located near murrey company bridge. Catherine's Hospital came into being to serve women and children specially the poor and marginalized who could not afford to pay for their treatment or buy medicines. Medical Mission work began among the women of Kanpur in 1897 during the reign of King William III of England when the first team of Medical staff from S.P.G. Mission under the management of "Women Mission Association". The Hospital was converted into a general hospital in the year 1986. The hospital at present is catering to the poor people of Kanpur (slums and thickly populated areas) and surrounding villages. The hospital at present is a 100 bedded hospital (86 charity and 14 private beds) spread across Out Patient Department, Maternity Department, General Medicine, Orthopedic Department, Eye Department, Dental Department, General Surgery, Pediatric Department, Community Health Department and School of Nursing.
