National Surgeon's Week 2025 has been observed at Diphu Medical College which was organised by The Diphu Branch of The Assam State Chapter of The Association of Surgeons of India.
The programme started off on 12th June with the Live Endourological Workshop at Major OT complex DMCH comprising of PCNL and URSL which was led by Dr Pranjit Dhekial Phukan. A total of 7 cases were performed. The workshop was attended to by around 35 people including faculties and students. It was followed up by a CME on New Advances in CTVS by esteemed surgeon cm speaker Dr Suraj Kumar Pradhan and Carcinoma Thyroid and it's Management by Dr B.C Roy.

13th of June kicked off with Cancer Awareness programme at Manja Block PHC which had nearly 60 participants and a free health camp at the same place where a total of 113 patients attended.

The 14th of June saw a blood donation camp organised at Blood Centre of DMCH where a total of 15 blood bags were collected from the camp.

The celebration of National Surgeon's Week concluded on National Surgeon's Day, the 15th of June with a plantation drive held at Diphu Medical College where a total of 40 saplings were planted.

Lastly, we would like to thank our Principal madam for her continuous support and guidance without which it wouldn't have been possible. We would also like to thank all our faculty members who have cooperated with us and helped us organise Surgeon's Week in a smooth manner.

Department of Psychiatry DMCH, Diphu organized "Poster Making Competition" on the occasion of World Su***de Prevention Day on 10th of Sept, 2024 at Administrative Block, DMCH, Diphu. Respected Principal Prof. (Dr.) Sumitra Hagjer and Supdt DMCH, Diphu graced the occasion. An awareness talk was delivered by Dr. Amal Ch Baishya, Asst professor of Psychiatry on the theme "Changing Narratives on Su***de: Start conversation". There were approximately 15 nos of posters on the theme as well as on Prevention of Su***de.
The program was attended by around 150 nos of students, Faculties and other staffs.

Free Treatment for Children having Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) is a compassionate and matchless initiative of Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Assam. It has an endearing and unique scheme for children suffering from Congenital Heart Disease which is being implemented by NRHM, Assam. Screening camp for children with congenital heart disease and children requiring bone marrow transplant for three hill districts was held on 10th September, 2024. This was a programme of our college in collaboration with District Health Society Karbi Anglong. The entire responsibility was performed smoothly by Prof.(Dr.) Lokajeet Baro, HOD, Department of Pediatrics under guidance of our Respected Principal Madam. Instructions were given from Govt. of Assam that patients and Parents/gaurdian must be satisfied with free transportation, breakfast, lunch etc.and there was comfortable seating arrangement for all patients, parents and all other health care workers. Patients mobilization was done by RBSK team of all blocks of all 3 districts. Fooding and transportation were arranged by . Cardiologist from Mumbai was very happy regarding our patient management and he could finish clinical exam along with ECHO of 89 patients within 5-6 hrs. This project is one of the dream project of our honorable CM Sir, in the camp it was detected 56 children with congenital heart disease in the three hill districts.

The Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi launched 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' Campaign and encouraged citizens “to plant a tree in the coming days as a tribute to your mother”. a mega plantation drive taken up by the faculties,staffs and students of Diphu Medical College and Hospital, Diphu in collaboration with District Administration and Department of Forest and Environment,KarbiAnglong wherein 500 saplings of commercially valuable 'Mahogani' were planted across the area of Diphu Medical College and Hospital,Diphu since 7am morning on 9th August, 2024. The seedlings for plantation were distributed by the Department of Forest and Environment free of cost.The inauguration of the mega plantation drive were graced by Respected District Commissioner Smti. ,Diphu will be celebrating the 10th International Yoga Day on 21st June 2024. A month long yoga training, awareness and wellness program has been scheduled from 19th May 2024 to 16th June 2024 to raise awareness about holistic advantages of yoga that offers for our well-being among the college faculties,staffs, nursing staffs and students. Department of Medicine,Diphu Medical College organised an awareness meeting with theme "Protecting Children from To***co Industry Interference".
Students of performed a skit about harmfulness of to***co smoking and how to quit the bad habit of smoking etc. infront of the attendants of patients in the OPD complex. Students also participated in the poster making competition. Specially the 3rd year MBBS students with Community Department faculties were participated in few schools to aware the students about the harmfulness of to***co.
