A Decade of Broken Promises: How the BJP Government Failed Haryana
Over the last ten years, Haryana has witnessed the rise of a government that promised growth, safety, and prosperity for all. However, as the years passed, these promises began to feel hollow, leaving the people of Haryana disillusioned and angry. Under the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the state has faced numerous challenges that have left its citizens questioning whether their leaders truly have their best interests at heart.
The Rise in Crimes Against Women:
One of the most heart-wrenching failures of the BJP government in Haryana is the alarming increase in crimes against women. Imagine a state where women fear for their safety every time they step out of their homes. This is the harsh reality in Haryana today. Over the past decade, cases of domestic violence, r**e, and harassment have surged, leaving countless women and their families in despair.
In 2016, during the Jat reservation agitation, Haryana descended into chaos. The violence was horrific, but what shocked the nation the most were reports of mass r**es in Murthal. Women were dragged from their vehicles, assaulted, and left to fend for themselves, while the government stood by helplessly. The sheer brutality of these incidents and the government's inability to prevent or even properly investigate them left the people of Haryana feeling betrayed.
It is crucial to clarify that these heinous acts were committed by a fraction of anti-social elements who took advantage of the chaos, and these individuals did not belong to any particular caste or community. These criminals were opportunists who exploited the situation, and their actions should not be seen as a reflection of the Jat community or any other group.
Similarly, when a religious guru, was convicted of r**e in 2017, the state was again plunged into violence. His followers rioted, resulting in over 30 deaths and widespread destruction. Despite knowing the risks, the BJP government failed to take the necessary precautions to protect its citizens. Instead, their focus seemed more on managing the political fallout than ensuring justice and safety.
Unemployment and Economic Hardships:
Under the BJP’s rule, Haryana has also struggled with rising unemployment. Young people, full of hope and ambition, have found themselves facing a future without job opportunities. The state, once known for its thriving economy, has seen its youth wander in search of employment, their dreams slowly fading.
The BJP had promised to double the income of farmers, but instead, they doubled their struggles. The cost of farming has increased, and many farmers have been pushed into debt. The government’s failure to support them during these tough times has left many feeling abandoned.
Corruption and Favoritism:
The repeated leaks of government job examination papers, including the infamous 2017 Haryana Judicial Services exam scandal, have deeply tarnished the credibility of recruitment processes in the state. These incidents have deprived deserving candidates of opportunities and exposed the widespread corruption within the system. The BJP government's failure to prevent such breaches has eroded public trust, raising concerns about the integrity and fairness of the state's governance. These scandals are a stark reminder of the challenges faced by honest aspirants in an environment plagued by inefficiency and corruption.
The issue of corruption under the BJP government has been another major concern. While the party promised to tackle corruption, reality has shown otherwise. Mishandling of Farmers’ Protests:
The BJP government’s handling of the farmers’ protests against the three farm laws was another glaring failure. The protests, which saw thousands of farmers from Haryana and other states marching towards Delhi, were met with a heavy-handed response from the government. Instead of engaging in meaningful dialogue, the government chose to ignore the legitimate concerns of the farmers, leading to a prolonged standoff and unnecessary suffering.
