Guru (गुरु) –

He or she is not merely a teacher, but a guide, a mentor, a bridge between the finite and the infinite.

A traditional verse from the Guru Gita says:

“Gurur Brahmā Gurur Vishnuḥ Gurur Devo Maheśvaraḥ
Guruḥ Sākṣāt Parabrahma Tasmai Śrī Gurave Namaḥ”

The Guru is Brahma, the Guru is Vishnu, the Guru is Shiva;
The Guru is the Supreme Reality itself. To that Guru, I offer my reverence.
