Many patients notice seasonal changes in symptoms—fatigue, infections, stiffness, or digestive issues appearing without warning.

Ayurveda explains this through Ritucharya—the practice of aligning food, routine, and lifestyle with seasonal changes.

Our latest blog explores:

* Why MS symptoms fluctuate seasonally
* How dosha imbalance play a role
* What do summer, monsoon, autumn, and winter demand from MS care
* How seasonal discipline supports long-term stability

Read the full blog to understand how seasonal discipline supports neurological stability.

In Ayurveda, the health of the nervous system is deeply connected to the balance of Vata dosha. When it becomes disturbed, especially in neurological conditions like Multiple Sclerosis, instability and flare-ups can arise.

1️⃣ Oleation (Snehana) – calming dryness
Vata is dry and rough by nature.
PAMS counteracts this through:
* Medicated oils and ghee
* Daily Abhyanga (oil massage)
* Head therapies like Shirodhara / Shirovasti
Effect:
✔️ Reduces nerve dryness
✔️ Improves nerve conductivity
✔️ Calms tremors and stiffness
✔️ Supports better sleep and reduced fatigue

2️⃣ Basti Therapy – the core Vata treatment
Ayurveda states clearly:
Basti is the primary treatment for Vata disorders.
At Ayush Prana, PAMS uses planned basti cycles, not random enemas:
* Oil-based Basti (Anuvasana)
* Decoction-based Basti (Niruha)
Effect:
✔️ Regulates systemic Vata from its main site (colon)
✔️ Reduces spasticity and rigidity
✔️ Improves bowel–brain–nerve connection
✔️ Helps stabilise disease fluctuations

3️⃣ Removing Ama before nourishing Vata
When toxins block channels, Vata becomes erratic.
PAMS first focuses on:
* Strengthening digestion (Agni)
* Clearing Ama from body channels
Effect:
✔️ Removes obstruction (Avarana)
✔️ Allows Vata to function smoothly
✔️ Reduces inflammatory flare-ups

4️⃣ Nourishing nerve tissue (Brimhana)
Once Vata calms, rebuilding begins.
Focus areas:
* Majja dhatu (nervous tissue)
* Ojas (vital immunity and strength)
Effect:
✔️ Slows degeneration
✔️ Improves stamina and balance
✔️ Supports long-term neurological stability

5️⃣ Mind–Vata stabilisation
Stress is a powerful Vata aggravator.
PAMS addresses:
* Anxiety
* Fear
* Sleep disturbances
Effect:
✔️ Calms mind and nerves
✔️ Reduces relapse triggers
✔️ Improves emotional resilience

Through structured PAMS therapies, the focus is on calming the nervous system, clearing internal obstructions, nourishing weakened tissues, and supporting emotional stability. This gradual, disciplined approach helps the body move toward steadiness rather than suppression.

Time does not always limit progress.

With the right therapeutic approach and sustained care at Ayush Prana, Daljith showed progress.

Daljith's journey with Multiple Sclerosis spans over two decades. Now on his second visit, improvements in walking endurance and independent steps reflect meaningful functional gains.

Small improvements often reflect important shifts.

1️⃣ Rogi–Roga Pariksha (Patient & Disease Assessment)
Diagnosis begins with evaluating both the patient and the disease expression. MS commonly reflects Vata imbalance, particularly disturbances in Prana, Vyana, and Udana Vata. Associated Pitta and Kapha influences are also assessed.

2️⃣ Samprapti (Understanding Pathogenesis)
Physicians analyse how the imbalance developed and progressed. Factors such as Vata aggravation, Ama involvement, and Srotas obstruction are examined. MS is often viewed through Dhatukshaya and Avarana of Vata mechanisms.

3️⃣ Dhatu & Srotas Involvement
Majja Dhatu, governing the nervous system, is carefully evaluated for signs of depletion or dysfunction. Ojas assessment is also important, especially in fatigue and reduced vitality. This helps explain symptom patterns and progression.

4️⃣ Ashta Sthana Pariksha (Eight-fold Examination)
Classical examination methods provide functional insights into systemic balance. Observations include pulse, digestion, elimination, sensory responses, and constitution. These indicators guide deeper clinical interpretation.

5️⃣ Prakriti & Vikriti Analysis
Ayurveda distinguishes inherent constitution from current imbalance. Many individuals with MS exhibit Vata or Vata-Pitta dominance. This influences both symptom expression and treatment direction.

6️⃣ Classical Disease Correlation
Symptoms are mapped to classical Vata-Vyadhi descriptions. Conditions such as Sarvanga Vata, Pakshaghata, and Kampavata may be considered. This provides a traditional diagnostic framework.

7️⃣ Role of Modern Investigations
Modern tools like MRI and neurological reports are considered supportive. They complement but do not replace Ayurvedic clinical assessment. Diagnosis remains rooted in doshic and Dhatu evaluation.

8️⃣ Final Ayurvedic Understanding
The final diagnosis describes the pattern of imbalance and system involvement. It reflects functional disturbances rather than a fixed disease label. This guides personalised therapeutic planning.

Detox is often misunderstood—especially in Multiple Sclerosis.

MS is not a condition where the body can be pushed or cleansed aggressively. The nervous system needs stability, not shock.

Our new blog explores how Ayurveda approaches detoxification for MS patients—with restraint, timing, and long-term care in mind.

Read the full article to understand what supports stability—and what doesn’t.

In Ayurveda, inflammation is not seen as a problem that appears suddenly. It is understood as a slow internal imbalance that develops when digestion weakens, and toxins begin to accumulate in the body.

According to Ayurvedic understanding, inflammation mainly arises due to three root causes:

Ama – toxic by-products formed when food is not digested properly
Aggravated Pitta – excess heat in the body
Disturbed Vata – irregular movement, dryness, and instability

Weak Agni – low digestive fire that fails to process food efficiently
Instead of suppressing symptoms, Ayurvedic treatment focuses on correcting digestion, clearing Ama, cooling excess heat, and gently stabilising Vata.

When these foundations are addressed, inflammation naturally begins to settle.

Inflammation is not just a symptom—it’s a signal.

At Ayush Prana, we help identify the root causes through personalised Ayurvedic care designed for MS and chronic inflammatory conditions.

10/02/2026

Mental fatigue doesn’t begin in the mind alone. When digestion is weak, low-grade inflammation quietly affects the nervous system, making focus harder and mental effort heavier. Over time, poor absorption of essential nutrients needed for brain function adds to this exhaustion, showing up as brain fog and reduced clarity.

Ayurveda explains this through impaired Agni—when digestion slows, metabolic waste (Ama) accumulates and blocks the body’s subtle channels, including those that support mental alertness. At the same time, gut imbalance can disrupt the production of key neurotransmitters that regulate mood, motivation, and concentration.

Supporting gut health is not just about digestion—it’s a foundational step toward restoring mental energy and cognitive balance.
