FQLRC has more than 15 years of experience in Food Quality Control and Inspection, commendable expertise acquired through training both in India and overseas by FAO / USFDA and other international organizations. Our team carries the skills and experience in implementation of food safety management systems in food processing industries, cashew, sea food etc. The Chief Executive of FQLRC has the distinction of several years of consultancy assignment with FAO in various countries in the world. He possesses international exposure having participated in trainings by FAO / USFDA / USDA. The other team members are equally exposed to national and international Food Quality Control and Inspection activities. FSSAI AIMS AT REDUCING AND ELIMINATING TRANS-FAT IN BAKED AND FRIED FOOD PRODUCTS !!!

FSSAI has launched a massive campaign against industrially produced trans fats to reduce it to 2% and has even taken a vow to completely eradicate trans fats from Indian food system. FSSAI wants the country to reach 2% level of trans fat by 2022. In line with WHO’s programme, FSSAI has initiated several programmes which includes sensitizing the industry that uses trans fat as emulsifier for various products particularly the baking industry.

& Centre supports the food processing industry by doing tests for transfats and advising on reducing the level.

Comprehensive Packaging norms from FSSAI !!!

FSSAI’s new packaging standards will bar food packaging that is made of used plastic or recycled material. The new standards, nevertheless, are going to be comprehensive as they will include BIS(Bureau of Indian Standards) norms as well. Further the new regulations shall have migration limits to specific contaminants, like heavy metals.

FQ Lab & Research Centre (P) Ltd has been doing migration test for packaging materials for the past several years and the food processing industry has been availing the service !!!

FSSAI to start rigorous inspections at FBOs across India soon !!!

FSSAI is gearing up for large scale inspections to be carried out at FBOs’ premises across the country in order to ensure compliance with the FSS Regulations, 2011. It is to make sure that FBOs follow best standards and build trust amongst people about the safety and quality of food products.
The FSSAI is focusing more on training of FBOs and FSOs and strengthening of lab infrastructure in the country.

FQ Lab & Research Centre would join FSSAI in spreading the message of food safety right from grass root level and also schools through awareness programs.

As per FSSAI order dated 6 Oct 2017,It is mandatory that every food processing establishment should have at least one certified food safety supervisor.

AFST(I) Cochin chapter( Training partner of FSSAI), organized FoSTaC Food Safety Supervisor Training on Advanced Food manufacturing (Level-2) at Kollam on 27-Oct-2018 for the benefit of cashew Industry. Industry sources expressed their appreciation and suggested that we may conduct another programme in Kollam. This was the 3rd programme in the series of FoSTaC Trainings organized by AFST(I) Cochin chapter.
