Misty rain and gushing winds today. Even Tummo breathing steps aside gracefully on such a day.

The practice now? Coffee with Bhim, and a book. :)

Sometimes, the deepest stillness is found not in pushing against the world, but in settling exactly as you are.

Evenings and endings in this world and in our lives have more charm than beginnings. In the silence of twilight, the day bows out at Kanzeon Zendo, Perumalmalai, with shades no dawn can quite match. It reminds me of yūgen (幽玄), that Japanese aesthetic of subtle, mysterious beauty found in things fading—like the last notes of music during our evening meditation in the Zendo hall, or the fallen flower that still radiates fragrance and quiet grace upon the ground.

Beginnings dazzle with possibility, and more ink and paper have been spent celebrating them. Yet in my humble view, endings reveal depth. They remind us that beauty is not only in what arrives, but in what departs—leaving behind a trace, a resonance, a mystery that cannot be grasped, only felt.

There is a quiet truth in this: beginnings often carry the weight of expectation, but evenings and endings arrive with a ripened grace. They carry memory, our story—whether lived fully or left half-lived—and the bittersweet taste of completion.
