Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) is a circulatory problem where arteries in the limbs, most often the legs and feet become narrow due to plaque buildup (atherosclerosis), reducing blood flow and oxygen supply.

This can cause leg pain or cramping during activity, numbness, non-healing sores, ulcers and in severe cases, gangrene.

Risk factors include high cholesterol, high blood pressure, smoking, and diabetes. PAD significantly increases the risk of heart attack and stroke.
