HINE( Hammersmith Infant Neurological Evaluation) is a Standardised Assessment done for NICU graduates and High Risk infants by Neonatologist and Developmental therapist to determine age appropriate neurological progress and deficits. It also can be used as risk factor evaluation for future motor development disorders.

On the very auspicious World Occupational Therapy Day 2023 let me guide through the history of Occupational Therapy (OT) in India..

** Occupational Therapy started in India around the year 1950. Mrs Kamla V Nimbkar was the first Occupational Therapist of India also considered as Mother of Occupational Therapy in India.
In the same year first Occupational Therapy in India started at Seth G.S. Medical College & K.E.M Hospital , Mumbai.

** Occupational Therapy as a professional course and services started in West Bengal in the year 1978 at National Institute For The Orthopaedically Handicapped(NIOH), Kolkata.Presently NILD.

** World Occupational Therapy Day was started for the first time by World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) on 27 October 2010.
