Slipped capital femoral epiphysis ( SCFE) is a condition of the hip where the head of the femur gradually topples off its place. It’s a condition of danger because the head of the femur bone may lose its blood supply and there will be permanent damage.

Modified Dunns Osteotomy is the recommended surgery which is described for the severe cases.

This is a difficult surgery and requires expertise and special training to perform.

Hereby is a case of 13 year old boy who presented to me with acute severe SCFE
for this child Mod Dunns Osteotomy was done Presenting
Child who was not able to stand before surgery is now walking painfree.

And what an artist ( surgeon )needs is appreciation….

In my short practise in Kolkata as Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon, I am emensely gratified by my seniors, juniors,friends and most importantly patients for trusting and believing in me.
These small gestures gives us the impulse and motivation to thrive more.

Revision surgery for Relapsed Developmental Dysplasia of Hip (DDH)

This is a condition when after one surgery the hip does not reduce to a proper position and fails.

This is a tougher condition to manage in comparison to a first time time ( primary )DDH surgery, as all the complications amplifies several fold.

Hereby presenting a 5year old kid with three times failed DDH surgery, done outside by different surgeon.

The child then presented to me and i was able to successfully locate the hip with a challenging Surgery

He is fine now and recovering

Developmental dysplasia of Hip ( DDH)
Is a condition where the hip joint ( most important joint) is not developed properly and hence its dislocated.
This condition is usually managed non-operatively if diagnosed in first month of birth.

As the child grows the treatment becomes more and more complicated and usually requires surgery after 9 months of age.

The surgery is challenging and requires special training as the complications are devastating leading to permanent disability.

Hereby presenting a case of 3 years old boy with DDH for which surgerical management was done .
Child now is fully functional.

Supracondylar humerus fracture ( elbow )is the most common fracture in children.
It is caused by fall on outstretched hand.
Proper treatmentnt of these farcture leads to complete cure, however improper treatment causes elbow deformity and stiffness.

Hereby presenting a case of a child after supracondylar humerus fracture, after surgery with full normal function after 5 weeks from injury.
