One of the greatest pleasures in our profession is sending home a young patient after a complex congenital heart surgery. A 9-month-old infant from Bangladesh, who weighed 6.0 kg, was not gaining weight due to recurrent chest infections and required frequent hospital admissions. The child was diagnosed with two holes in the heart. The parents consulted us for a definitive treatment plan, and understandably, they were anxious. Our team successfully performed the surgery, repairing the defects, and the child is recovering well. With a successful outcome, the child is ready for discharge within four days. The child has kindly agreed to pose for a photo with the surgeon. We hope the child enjoys a long, healthy life.

Its always a herculean task to operate on a family member or relatives of a family member. I always feel my cardiac surgery team is my extended family. So when my Ward RMO Trina 's father had undergone CAG and a triple vessel critical coronary artery disease was diagnosed, both myself and Trina faced this herculean task.
Her father is himself a physician and he took his time to make decision for undergoing MICS CABG.
We have done a SUCCESSFUL MICS TOTAL ARTERIAL BYPASS - LIMA -RIMA on him about a fortnight ago. Only a small cut at left chest. No other incision. All went well. His recovered well. Now he came for his 1st follow up.
Both surgeon and his RMO is relieved and decided to capture this moment in a frame.
