More common in Singers, Teachers and those who are used to prolonged vocal use.

More common in hypothyroidism.

ADENOID HYPERTROPHY:

This is tonsil like gland at the end of nose.

It is very common in child. With increasing age, it slowly decreases in size and is almost absent in adults.

The most common cause of nasal obstruction in child is Adenoid gland enlargment and inflammation.

It cause recurrent allergy of nose in child like sneezing, nasal discharge, snoring, mouth breathing and Obstructive sleep apnoea.

It can cause fluid collection behind the ear drum and cause recurrent infections of ear.

Treatment is nasal spray.

If not improved over a month of 3-6 months, may need removal of adenoid gland by Coblation Adenoidectomy under GA.

Grapes like masses filled with mucus in nose.

Mostly seen in patients with nasal allergy.

Symptoms :
Nasal obstruction
Allergy of nose like sneezing, running nose.
Nasal bleeding.
Headache.
