About Dr Uttio Gupta

He completed his MBBS from Nilratan Sircar (NRS) Medical College, Kolkata. He completed his MD in speciality of General Medicine from Vivekananda Institute of Medical Sciences, Kolkata. He secured the second rank in the All India Entrance Examination to enter the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi to study DM in the super-speciality of Endo

crinology. His vast clinical experience includes working in many academic posts in institutions such as the Department of Medicine, Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (IPGMER & SSKM) Hospital, Kolkata, Department of Endocrinology, NRS Medical College, Kolkata and Department of Endocrinology & Metabolism, AIIMS, New Delhi. He has several publications in National and International journals including European Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolic Syndrome: Clinical Research & Reviews. He believes in a rational approach, to deliver evidence-based medical treatment with true empathy and care. He gives the opportunity to his patient to narrate their problems in their own way, listens to them patiently with care and after clinical assessment discusses the relevant treatment options with possible consequences in an affectionate way which makes him truly acceptable to his patients. As most endocrine ailments like diabetes are lifestyle disorders, he takes time to discuss the diet and exercise plan customized to individual patient profiles and relevant aspects of diabetes education to ensure complete diabetic care to his patients. Presently, he is attached to Medica Superspeciality Hospital, Kolkata as a Consultant in the Department of Endocrinology and has a private practice in Endocrinology in South Kolkata.
