A few days ago while doing a scroll, I came across this wonderful article by that spoke about how fathers can help while nursing a child and tending to the needs of a new mom. Parenthood and raising a child is partnership and so even a father's involvement is absolutely necessary in a child's life and for the mom too. It can get overwhelming for a mom to do everything by herself, so support from dad can really turn things around.

Swipe to see how fathers can be a part of the process in a way that effective and comforting!

🔑 Takeaways from the Meltdown:

1. I am so happy I managed to regulate and keep my emotions in check while dealing with Taksh’s big emotions and big feelings.

2. Adding on your unregulated emotions unchecked to a child’s meltdown/ tantrum will only serve to make things worse.

3. Talk gently, calmly, softly, and firmly. It is okay for you as a parent to say no and to hold the boundary. It is also okay for them as babies to upset about it❗

4. Getting down to eye level with them really helps.

5. Touch is so important. A hug, a kiss, a stroke, a pat all help calm the nervous system.

6. Always discussed what’s happened after it’s over, when the baby is more receptive to listening. A tantrum or a meltdown is not the right place or time to have a teaching moment. First, try to diffuse the situation.

7. Babies learn how to regulate their emotions by how we handle their big emotions and our own big emotions.

8. I am doing my best. And I am so thankful for having not got triggered by Everything that went down tonight.

It is time for a breastfeeding myth: If your breasts are soft then you have lost milk supply?

Not at all! ❌
After the first 6-12 weeks, it is normal for a mother's breasts to feel less full, soft, and even empty. But It is important to remember that soft breasts are WORKING breasts.

If you're feeding your baby frequently and on demand, soft breasts after each feeding indicate that he or she has been well-nursed. Because the breasts are empty, more milk can be produced. So don't be scared, You're doing fantastically well!

Keep breastfeeding, keep pumping, and that will keep stimulating your body to produce more milk.

If you have any concerns, feel free to drop them in the comments section below or send me a DM and I'll help!

Breast milk supplies your infant with the ideal balance of calories, nutrients, and antibodies. It even adapts to your baby's changing demands as he grows. And even a single drop makes a difference!

Try stating "I was able to nurse for 3 months" instead of "I only breastfed for 3 months."
