How is varicocele diagnosed?

For many adult men and boys, feeling insecurity about ‘normal p***s size’ is common and sometimes it is too severe to affect the self-esteem and personal relationships. Men are concerned that their p***s is smaller than it should be, or that isn’t large enough to satisfy a partner, perpetuating the myth that ‘bigger is better’.
In contrast, men with s*xual experience with another person were more likely to overestimate than those with no mutual s*xual experience. This is possibly because of “greater sense of masculinity, s*xual competence, and prowess.”

What’s a normal p***s size?

According to many studies
Worldwide 45% of men believe they have a small p***s.
Average length of flaccid (when not hard) p***s- from 7 to 10 centimetres (2.8 to 3.9 inches).
Average circumference/girth of flaccid p***s- from 9 to 10 centimetres (3.5 to 3.9 inches).
Average length of erect (hard) p***s- from 12 to 16 centimetres (4.7 to 6.3 inches).
Average girth of erect p***s- 12 centimetres (4.7 inches).

Is my p***s too small?
Medically the "Micro-p***s" or the ‘small p***s’ means “only men with
a flaccid length of less than 4 centimetres (1.6 inches), or
a stretched or erect length of less than 7.5 centimetres (3 inches).”

Sometimes, your p***s size is OK, still it appears small because of "buried p***s" which occurs if you have excess fat (particularly over your p***c bone) or you have excess skin around p***s.

I NOTED MY FRIEND'S P***S IS LARGER THAN ME. IT MAKES ME FEEL EMBARRASSED. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
The studies found that the size of a person’s erect p***s did not correlate with their flaccid p***s size. In other words, a p***s may have different lengths when flaccid but similar lengths when erect. Therefore, it is quite possible that when you have seen your friend's p***s, it was possibly erect or in different stage of flaccid state than yours. That's why his organ appeared larger.

The alternate explanation is "Grower" vs "Shower".
Grower: p***s grows much longer when going from being flaccid to being erect.
Shower: p***s doesn’t show any major change when going from flaccid to erect.
One study used the 1.5-inch figure as a baseline for whether a participant was a shower or grower.
Does your p***s grow more than 1.5 inches when you get erect? You’re a grower. Less than 1.5 inches? You’re a shower.
Therefore, it is quite possible that your friend is a shower, while you are grower.

How to measure your p***s?
Your p***s should be measured best when it is erect. You may get different results each time – that’s normal.
Length:
Measure the top edge of your p***s – the side you can see when you look down.
Measure from the tip to the pelvic bone – press the ruler into your groin until you feel resistance to compensate for hair, fat and skin.
Measure with the ruler at a right angle to your body when your p***s is straight. If you have a bend to your p***s, use a flexible measuring tape to follow the curve.
Girth:
Measure mid-shaft, where the thickness is most even.
Wrap the measuring tape gently around, until it’s snug.
If you don’t have a flexible tape, use paper, a shoelace or some string to wrap around, then measure that length.

What decides the p***s size?
Genetic factors- Can reflect the p***s size of your father or brother.
Ethnicity- Men born in different countries can have different p***s size.
Age- Definitely, adults have better size than boys.
Excess fat (described below).
Hormonal influence (described below)

Is p***s size important?

For s*x- Unless you have microp***s, size does not matter. Remember, only outer one-third of va**na is sensitive to touch. Therefore, considering the average length of va**na being 9 centimetres (2.5 inches), your size is enough to satisfy a woman.

For medical purpose- If your doctor suspect that you have micro-p***s because of some hormonal disorder (like delayed puberty in boys or low testosterone in adult) or some surgery, the response to treatment can sometimes be monitored by checking the growth of p***s.

For choosing the right condom- The better the fit, the better the condom will work and the safer you and your partner will be.

What to do for small p***s?
For real "micro-p***s"- Only in such cases, the underlying cause (hormonal problem, some birth defects, complications of surgery or injury) should be identified. In those cases, hormone therapy (if hormones are low) or surgery can be undertaken.

For "buried p***s"- weight reduction and sometimes surgery to remove excess skin can improve the appearance of your p***s.

If you want to enlarge p***s just for self-satisfaction- You can consider some surgery, fat grafting (inserting fat from other parts of the body to p***s) or a relatively simple treatment, called P shot. In P shot, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is prepared by collection blood from your hand and then after processing some amount of processed blood is injected into your p***s.

Swelling in testicles without pain:
Lumps and swellings in the testicles are a relatively common symptom in boys and men. There are many types of swelling, which causes pain (like torsion or orchitis). As they cause, pain, usually men report to the doctor very soon. However, majority of the testicular swelling does not cause pain and therefore, the diagnosis and treatment may be delayed.
The vast majority of testicular lumps and swellings are caused by benign (non-cancerous) conditions that may not need treatment, but it’s important to know what’s normal for you and to see your doctor if you notice any changes in your testicles so they can try to identify the cause.
What causes testicular lumps and swellings WITHOUT PAIN?
There are many possible reasons why your testicles may become swollen or develop a lump. Some of the main causes are:
varicoceles – swellings caused by swollen and enlarged veins within the sc***um
hydroceles – swellings caused by a build-up of fluid around the testicle
epididymal cysts – lumps caused by a collection of fluid in the epididymis (a coiled tube behind the testicles)
epididymo-orchitis – inflammation of the epididymis and testicles/ Usually it causes pain, but sometimes pain may be minimum.
inguinal hernias – where fatty tissue or a part of your bowel pokes through into your groin, which can cause the sc***um to become enlarged

In rare cases, testicular lumps can be a sign of testicular cancer. Fewer than 4 in every 100 testicular lumps are cancerous.
You should contact your doctor GP if you notice any lumps, swellings or changes in your testicles.
Your doctor will ask you about your symptoms and examine your testicles to try to identify the cause of the problem.
In some cases you may be referred for further tests, such as an ultrasound scan of your sc***um, to confirm a diagnosis.
How testicular lumps and swellings are treated?
Treatment for testicular lumps and swellings will depend on the underlying cause. Many conditions do not need to be treated if they are not causing any many problems and they are not cancer.
Some lumps and swellings will improve over time, and simple measures such as taking over-the-counter painkillers or wearing supportive underwear may be enough to relieve any pain or discomfort in the meantime.
Surgery may be recommended to drain away any fluid (like hydrocele) or remove any solid lumps, if the problem gets worse.

The FO****IN ("PREPUCE") is a piece of skin that covers the "G***S P***S" (head of the p***s). It can be retracted (pulled back toward the abdomen).

"CIRCUMCISION" is the procedure by which the fo****in is removed, either as a part of religious practice (in Muslims and Jews) or medical procedure.

Whether the fo****in has any function at all, is debatable. Some people believe that the fo****in protects your p***s and increases s*xual pleasure. Other people believe that the fo****in increases the risk of certain diseases. Remember, the fo****in should cover the g***s p***s when the p***s is flaccid (not hard). However, as the fo****in is movable, you should be able to pull it back (retracted) so that you can clean the head of your p***s. Usually, you can retract your fo****in behind the "CORONA" (ridge of your p***s, just behind the g***s). You should move it far enough back while you’re peeing to see the "MEATUS" (the hole where urine comes out).

Retracting your fo****in isn’t supposed to hurt. Everyone’s fo****in is different, and retraction becomes possible at different ages. If you can’t get your fo****in to retract once or twice, it’s not a problem. If it happens often, or if it hurts to try to move the skin of your p***s, contact your healthcare provider.

When the p***s is hard ("ERECT"), the fo****in should go back by itself without much manipulation.

If the fo****in of your p***s is so tight that it can’t be pulled back (retracted) to reveal the p***s head (g***s), the condition is called "PHIMOSIS". Sometimes trying to move the fo****in can result in tears or cuts. It can cause bleeding and pain during s*x, infections in p***s and kidney, damage to kidneys (as you may have difficulties in passing urine) and even small risk of cancer.

However, if you feel you have phimosis, you should not forcefully pull it back. In that case, this may lead to "PARAPHIMOSIS", which is a medical emergency. It happens when your fo****in becomes stuck behind the ridge of the head of your p***s. If your fo****in is stuck for a long time, it can cause pain and swelling. It can also block blood flow to your p***s, which can cause tissue to die (gangrene). Therefore, if you find your fo****in is tight, do not pull it back forcefully, rather consult doctor.

Erectile Dysfunction

What causes erectile dysfunction (ED)?

ED occurs when the man is unable to achieve or maintain his er****on of p***s to meet his or his partner's s*xual satisfaction. Contrary to common belief, in very few cases, ED is psychological (caused by anxiety, depression, stress, marital disharmony etc). Excess weight, use of alcohol and smoking will aggravate the problem. In most cases, ED occurs because of some physical problems in the body like hormonal imbalance (low testosterone, excess prolactin, diabetes), chronic diseases of liver or kidney, diseases of nerves and spines and sometimes infections or tumour in private parts (prostate, te**is etc). Apart from these, some surgeries (in abdomen, prostate, te**is) and some drugs (used to lower blood pressure, antidepressants, hormonal drugs etc) may also cause ED.

Why ED should not be ignored?

ED should be taken seriously because it increases the risk of cardiac disease, stroke and many other serious problems. In fact, men with ED can develop HEART ATTACK within the next 5 years. Therefore, it's important to control weight by diet and exercise, to quit smoking and to reduce alcohol intake. You should check your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, sugar and weight regularly.
In addition, ED can affect your relationship. It can lead to depression.

What tests are needed in case of ED?

Don't feel embarrassed to take medical help. Today's embarrassment may harm you in future. So, get cured and enjoy your personal life. Firstly, we need to diagnose the underlying cause of ED. There are a number of tests to diagnose the cause of ED. However, we prefer to do the tests in a stepwise manner (initially doing some tests and giving some medicines and if the condition does not improve, then doing further tests). Your doctor will ask you a few questions. Two most important things, your doctor will ask:
1. if you feel hardness when you get up from the bed in the morning
2. if you have enough s*xual desire.

Initially you need physical examination (of your private organs) by the doctors and some essential blood tests (like sugar, cholesterol and testosterone). Pe**le Doppler is needed only if you don't respond to tablets.

What is the treatment of ED?

Regarding treatment, you need to treat the underlying cause (like diabetes, high cholesterol first). There are different medicines that can be used for ED. Usually medicines are advised to take before in*******se. However, there are certain things you should remember if you are taking these medicines:

1. These medicines are safe for most people and major side effects include bodyache and headache
2. If you are taking some other medicines, you should inform the doctors to avoid adverse effects. Particularly if you are taking nitrates for chest pain, or some medicines for prostate problems, you should consult your doctor whether you should take medicines for ED.
3. These medicines do not work if you don't have s*xual desire. Therefore, your partner plays an important role.
4. You have to wait for some time (maybe an hour or two) after taking the medicines to allow them to act on your p***s.
5. You have to take a particular medicine for at least 6-8 times of s*xual encounters before you conclude that such medicine does not work for you.

What happens if medicines do not work?

In 90% cases medicines work well. Subsequently, many people can do well even without medicines by lifestyle changes (reducing weight, stopping smoking) and doing special (Kegel's) exercise. Often, changing the medicines or increasing the dose can help. Sometimes your doctors may advise you to take medicines irrespective of in*******se.

In a few cases, advanced treatments like vacuum device (to create er****on artifically), self-injection in p***s or prosthesis (by surgery) are needed.

What you should not do if you have ED?

If you just take medicines from medicine shop for ED without consulting a doctor, your ED may improve TEMPORARILY but the underlying disease will progress and can become more serious. Therefore, it's important to investigate the cause by visiting the doctor.

What to do if you have ED and infertility?

ED is common in men with infertility. At the same time, ED may be the cause of infertility. Most men with ED can become father NATURALLY if their ED improves. However, in other cases, they can achieve pregnancy by Self-Insemination (collecting semen and putting inside va**na by themselves). IUI or IVF are needed for few cases.
