Did you know the Constitution of India was handwritten—not typed or printed?
After Independence, India needed more than freedom—it needed a foundation. Under Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and the Constituent Assembly, the world’s longest constitution was shaped through years of debate.
To give it an Indian soul, legendary artist Nandalal Bose hand-painted every page, inspired by Ajanta murals, epics, and village life. And every one of its 145,000 words was carefully handwritten by Prem Behari Narain Raizada—where a single mistake meant starting again.
When he wrote “We, the people of India,” his hands trembled. He refused payment, asking only that his name and his grandfather’s be remembered.
🇮🇳 India’s democracy was not just debated—it was crafted.
