A parent's job!
A parent's job is hard indeed! But many parents take it on them to turn their child into their life's masterpiece! They push their children to over achieve, expect them to do things which probably at some time they themselves wished to achieve, but couldn't, or want to fulfill THEIR unfulfilled dreams through their children.
In doing so, they are never satisfied with what their children are capable of, what THEY want to do in life, or WHO THEY ARE from within. In short, the parents never see or accept their children in WHO IT IS THEY ARE!
As a result, children feel pressured, demotivated, unloved and unappreciated and feel like a total failure in their parent's eyes, and in turn in their own eyes.
Their whole image of 'SELF' becomes distorted because of this burden of expectations from their parents which they can never seem to live upto!
So to all parents: Children are not your dream-projects! They are their own living, breathing, human beings - smart, intelligent, and talented in their OWN ways. We parents need to remember that we don't 'own' our children! We simply need to love them and ACCEPT them AS THEY ARE! And believe that they are capable in their OWN UNIQUE WAYS! ❤️
