Sometimes this is baffling
When we were in teens, getting a rank in medical/engineering made someone a figure, especially for people like me hailing from small cities. Even during internship the number of PGTs were some 4/5 in a single academic year. Cometh 2024, we find super specialists in every by lanes. House staff seats which hardly had takers are at premium now. Yet it seems we aren’t far off from being permitted to start a college in our drawing rooms.
Engineering streams were decimated like this 2 decades ago. From the ones in our time who still do well in allied lines (hardly few in core engineering though) to the present day engineers who are doing anything for the daily bread. But again, i presume they are tuned in their UG days, probably the reason why they move to MBA MCA etc.
But what about medics? এরা কী করবে? এতো ডাক্তার কিন্তু অত patient কই? And neither they learn any other skill nor are they oriented to do anything else. Are we far off from seeing the medical graduates begging on the streets?
Not to mention, the quality being produced from the mushrooming medical schools.
