December 10, 2014

The Governing Body-2nd Meeting of our Society has been fixed at 6 pm on Friday, 12th December 2014, in the office of Prof Gopal Mitra the President of the Society. The location of the office is given below:

Venue : 266 Russa Road
Tollygunge, Kolkata.
(The house is adjacent to the Bangur Hospital, on its northern side.)

All the members are requested to participate in the meeting and exchange their views to make the meeting a fruitful one.

MINUTES OF MEETING

First Meeting of the Governing Body of The Precast Concrete Society held at The Office of Prof. Gopal Mitra on 7th Nov. 2014 At 6 P.M.

Members present:

Prof. Goptal Mitra
Prof. Ajit Lal Guha
Mr. Subrata Roy
Mr. Balaram Mukherjee
Mr. Mukulesh Debnath
Mr. Debajyoti Debnath
Ms. Rinku Banerjee

On request from all the members present, Prof. Gopal Mitra presided over the meeting.

The following agenda were read out by Prof Guha:

Updation on registration of The Precast Concrete Society (PCS).
Proposal for membership drive in accordance with regulations of the society
Proposal for forming an Institute named after Dr K K Banerjee.
Proposal for formation of different committees:
Committee for Research &Continuing education
Committee for Entrepreneurs development
Committee for Organising Seminars
Proposal for developing a Library of the Society.
Any other point with the permission of the Chair.

Discussions:

Prof. Guha informed thatThe Precast Concrete Society has been registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961. The registration No. is 8/2L 26135 of 2014-15.
It was discussed and agreed by all that the society will have its own Logo. It was proposed, all the members will design / propose a Logo and submit the same with Prof Mitra who will take the final decision on this.
It was agreed by all that the member-base to be widened. To do so, the eligibility criteria and membership subscriptions are discussed and accepted as under:

Eligibility Criteria:

Honorary Member- To be decided by Governing Body
Fellow members Degree in Engineering /Architecture with 20 years professional experience
Life member- (i) Degree in Engineering/ Architecture
OR (ii) Diploma in Engineering / Architecture with 10 (ten) years professional experience
Member- (i) Degree in Engineering or Architecture
OR (ii) Diploma in Engineering / Architecture with 5 years professional experience
Student Member- Pursuing Degree course in Engineering/Architecture

Membership Subscriptions:

Honorary Member - Nil
Fellow member Rs 5000/- ( One time subscription)
Life Member Rs. 5000/- do
Member- Rs.1000/- annually
Student Member Nil
Corporate Membership Rs.10000/- One time

It is discussed and unanimously agreed to approach and request the following renowned Engineers/Architects to join us as distinguished honorary member of the society:

It will be our constant endeavour to find more talents and invite them to take part in the activities of PCS so that the members can benefit out of the knowledge and experience of the experts.

For smooth functioning of the Society, the present members of the Governing body have outlined the following committees and its functions:

Organizing Committee - To look after the formations of Dr K. K. Banerjee Precast and Pre-stressed Concrete Institute/School.

Continuing Education Committee - To organize continuing education programmes on Precast Pre-stressed Concrete -design, fabrication and er****on .

Technology Updation Committee - To try use of softwares in Precast & Pre-stressed Concrete.

Entrepreneurship development committee- To develop entrepreneurs for commercial use of PSC. .

Seminar Organizing Committee - To organize Two-day Seminar on Precast Pre-stressed Concrete Technology tentatively around third week of March,2015.

Human Resource Committee To look after the growth of the society.
The society looks ahead to the following social responsibilities in near future:

Slum Area Eradication Programme
Rural Area Housing and Sanitation Programme.

Next meeting to be held in the first week of December 2014 at 6:30 in the same place as above.

The Meeting was concluded with a vote of Thanks to the Chair.
