Many patients will visit your clinic for the treatment of a persistent ulcer on the side of nose or below eyes. You are precribing suitable medicines but it remains unaltered. Then it might be a case of BCC. BCC is locally invasive; it is not virulent and pervasive like SCC.
BCC is more prevalent in white skinned people but it's not at all rare in India too though SCC is more common in India.
â
The head and neck region is overwhelmingly the most common area for BCC development in Indian patients, with studies reporting 80% to over 97% of cases in this region.
Within the head and neck region, the nose is consistently identified as the single most frequent primary site for BCC.
â
Specific study findings in India-
đ
One study in North India found that 50% of all BCC cases occurred on the nose.
Another study reported the nose as the most common site in 31.5% of cases.
A study in South India noted the face as the most common location (65%), with the nose being a frequent sub-site.
â
Euphrasia 6c has that special predilection to form ulcer ( sometimes open ulcer like SCC)on the rt.side of nose.
