আমাদের প্রতিষ্ঠানে দীর্ঘমেয়াদী মানসিক রোগে আক্রান্ত ব্যক্তিদের উদ্যোগে অনুষ্ঠিত এই অনুষ্ঠানটি একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দৃষ্টান্ত যে মানসিক পুনর্বাসনে সাংস্কৃতিক অংশগ্রহণ কতটা কার্যকর ভূমিকা রাখে তা এর মাধ্যমে স্পষ্টভাবে বোঝা যায়।
গত ১০ বছর ধরে এই বাৎসরিক আয়োজন আমাদের সেবাগ্রহীতাদের জন্য একটি প্ল্যাটফর্ম হয়ে উঠেছে, যেখানে তারা গান, কবিতা ও পরিবেশনার মাধ্যমে আত্মপ্রকাশের সুযোগ পান।এটি প্রমাণ করে যে,
মানসিক চিকিৎসা কেবল ওষুধ বা থেরাপিতে সীমাবদ্ধ নয়; সঠিকভাবে গঠিত সৃজনশীল ও সামাজিক পুনর্বাসন কার্যক্রম সমান গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

সমস্ত অংশগ্রহণকারী, কর্মী ও সহায়কদের আন্তরিক ধন্যবাদ এই সফল আয়োজনের জন্য।

গত পাঁচ বছর ধরে ANI হাসপাতালের সঙ্গে সংযুক্ত প্রধান রাস্তাটি চরম অবহেলার শিকার হয়ে এসেছে। বহুবার প্রশাসনের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করার চেষ্টা করা হয়েছে, বিভিন্ন মাধ্যমে সাহায্যের আবেদন জানানো হয়েছে, কিন্তু এখনো পর্যন্ত কোনো কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করা হয়নি। এই দীর্ঘ সময়ে শুধু রোগীরাই ভোগান্তির শিকার হননি, বরং এলাকার শিশুরাও শিক্ষা থেকে বঞ্চিত হয়েছে।ANI হাসপাতালে দীর্ঘ দুই দশকের বেশি সময় ধরে মানসিক স্বাস্থ্য পরিষেবা প্রদান করে আসা হয়েছে, এবং লক্ষাধিক মানুষের চিকিৎসা ও পুনর্বাসনের দায়িত্ব পালন করা হয়েছে। শারীরিক স্বাস্থ্য নিয়ে কাজ করা প্রতিষ্ঠানের যে গুরুত্ব এবং স্বীকৃতি পাওয়া যায়, মানসিক স্বাস্থ্যসেবাকেন্দ্র হিসেবে সেই গুরুত্ব থেকে আমরা বারবার বঞ্চিত হয়েছি—এই পরিস্থিতির দীর্ঘস্থায়ীত্বই যেন সেই বৈষম্যের প্রমাণ রেখে যায়।হাসপাতালের দরজা এই পাঁচ বছরে একবারের জন্যও বন্ধ করা হয়নি। কারণ বিশ্বাস রাখা হয়েছে যে, মানসিক স্বাস্থ্য একটি মৌলিক অধিকার এবং সেই পরিষেবা অব্যাহত রাখাই দায়িত্বের মধ্যে পড়ে। তবে বর্তমানে রাস্তার অবস্থা এমন পর্যায়ে পৌঁছেছে যে, যাতায়াত সম্পূর্ণরূপে ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ হয়ে উঠেছে। ফলে রোগী, তাঁদের পরিবার এবং আশেপাশের জনগণের নিরাপত্তা নিয়ে গুরুতর উদ্বেগ সৃষ্টি হয়েছে।সম্প্রতি একটি সংবাদমাধ্যমে বিষয়টি প্রচারিত হয়েছে, এবং সেই প্রচারের পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে বৃহত্তর সমাজের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করাই এই পোস্টের উদ্দেশ্য।মানসিক স্বাস্থ্যসেবাকে ঘিরে যে অবহেলা ও সামাজিক কুসংস্কার এখনও বিদ্যমান, এই ঘটনাটি তারই একটি প্রতিচ্ছবি। এখন সময় এসেছে, এ নিয়ে সরব হওয়ার—একটি সমতাভিত্তিক স্বাস্থ্যব্যবস্থার জন্য একসঙ্গে দাঁড়ানোর।

দুই দশক ধরে ANi মানসিক স্বাস্থ্য সেবায় আশার আলো হয়ে কাজ করে চলেছে, অসাধারণ সেবা প্রদান, প্রান্তিক জনগোষ্ঠীর পাশে থাকা এবং উন্নত মানসিক স্বাস্থ্য পরিষেবা গড়ে তোলার নতুন পথ তৈরি করেছে।

আমাদের মটো “মানসিক সুস্থতা তৈরি, ঘরের মতো পরিবেশ দেওয়া, এবং আরও ভালো মানসিক স্বাস্থ্য গড়ে তোলার জন্য একটি কমিউনিটি তৈরি” – এই বিশ্বাসেই আমরা শক্তিশালীভাবে এগিয়ে চলেছি।

One of our residents sang a soulful Tagore song, inspiring an impromptu dance by a performer, leaving everyone captivated.

This Diwali, we celebrated the spirit of giving by supporting 100 underprivileged families with warm blankets and essential food items for the coming winter.

What makes this event truly special is that it was led by our incredible elderly residents living with dementia and schizophrenia, who contributed with such heart and dedication. They were also supported by our lovely consultant psychiatrist and director, Dr S B Kar & Dr Sofia Mohammad.

The celebrations continued with a lively inter-ward antakshari between our male and female wards, filling the atmosphere with joy and unity. Moving forward, we embrace a Diwali of quietness, brighter lights, and even greater giving. 🌟
