Seeking South Asian Voices in Mental Health Research!
I am sharing the poster of my research on “Exploring Experiences of Therapy Among South Asians in the UK,” which outlines our study on the lived experiences of South Asians accessing mental health counselling in the UK.
If you are a South Asian individual aged 18 or over and speak English, we invite you to share your insights. Your experiences can help us identify key considerations for developing culturally responsive and inclusive mental health services.
PLEASE NOTE that we will not discuss the specifics of your therapy sessions or the reasons for seeking support. Our focus is on your overall experience—how supported you felt and whether your cultural context was respected.
For more information or to participate, please contact Piya Banerjee at sbaner300@caledonian.ac.uk. Your participation is invaluable in shaping the future of mental health care for South Asians in the UK.
This research is part of Piya Banerjee’s Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University, supervised by Dr. Lindsey Burns and Dr. Dora Regoczi.
