Char Dham Yatra now takes us to Kedarnath Temple. The journey to Kedarnath invariably brings the mind to a deeper question — the nature of existence itself.
Kedarnath is one of the Jyotirlingas. It is a space of stillness, intensity, and dissolution.
At over 3,500 metres in the Himalayas, the journey is not easy. The path demands effort, patience, and a certain surrender. Your effort, in a way, becomes your prayer — a preparation for the darshan.
The landscape begins to change as you ascend.
The greenery slowly gives way to rugged terrain.
The air becomes thinner.
And somewhere along this journey, you begin to turn inward.
The temple stands amidst towering mountains, almost protected by them — as if held in a space beyond time.
There is a rawness to Kedarnath.
No ornamentation. Just presence.
You do not bow down only at the temple.
You find yourself bowing to the entire space —
to the temple,
to its surroundings,
to the mountains that hold it.
Some temples offer comfort. At Kedarnath brings to you stark awareness — of how small we are, and how vast existence is. In the presence of that which transcends time and space, one naturally begins to seek truth.
It takes reflection to fully absorb what Kedarnath offers.
The vast, snow-capped mountains, the deep blue sky behind the temple — the sheer magnitude of the experience stays etched in your consciousness.
🏔 We are going.
