Successful Completion of the Hernia Live Surgical Workshop by Yashoda Hospitals, Malakpet
The Department of Surgical Gastroenterology at Yashoda Hospitals, Malakpet, successfully conducted the Hernia Live Surgical Workshop. The event showcased live laparoscopic surgeries focusing on the latest techniques in hernia repair, providing a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange among surgeons and healthcare professionals.
Under the leadership of Dr. Pavan Gorukanti, Director of Yashoda Hospitals, and course direction of Dr. Tokala Surender Reddy, Consultant Surgical Gastroenterologist and Laparoscopic, Bariatric & Metabolic Surgeon, the workshop featured expert faculty including Dr. Venkkatesh Sreepathi and Dr. D. S. Sai Babu. The event was graced by Mr. K. Srinivas Reddy, Chief Operating Officer, Malakpet, who appreciated the department’s commitment to surgical education and innovation.
The event began with lectures on laparoscopic and open inguinal anatomy, followed by decision-making strategies for different hernia repair approaches such as TEP, TAPP, and eTEP.
A highlight of the workshop was the live case demonstrations of bilateral eTEP, TAPP, and IPOM+ procedures, led by Dr. Surender Reddy and colleagues, enabling participants to witness advanced surgical techniques in real time. The workshop also included case briefings by residents and interactive discussions on patient selection, preoperative considerations, and postoperative care.
