He did his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Calcutta National Medical College, Kolkata and completed his Masters (MS) in General Surgery from Calcutta National Medical College. Thereafter, he pursued Fellowship in Minimally Access Surgery (FMAS) from AMASI. He is a life member of ASI (The Association of Surgeons of India) & AMASI (Association of minimal Access Surgeons of India) and IAGES( The Indian Associantion of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons). His areas of practice are basic and advanced laparoscopic surgery, laparoscopic hernia surgery, Lap GI surgery,Lap Colorectal Surgery,LASER proctology and other various general surgical procedures. Currently he is practicing as an Assistant Professor of General Surgery in KPC Medical College Jadavpur, Kolkata and Senior Consultant Surgeon in Kothari Hospital, AMRI(Manipal) Hospital Mukundapur.Also attached withCosmos Hospital, AllAsia Hospital Gariahat, Artemis Hospital Bhawanipur and Narayan Memorial Hospital Behala.He is practicing Laparoscopic Surgery over 10 years and Treaching UG and PG Surgery students for more than 6 years. He is extremely popular among his patients as not only the trusted laparoscopic surgeon in Kolkata and also as a good human being.He is also popular as a teacher of surgery amongst his students.
