Confession of Mr. Soya Bean: The Ignored Hero

Hi, I’m Soya Bean. Yeah, yeah, I know… you’ve probably walked past me in the grocery aisle a hundred times, whispering, “Nah, let’s get chicken.” Excuse me?! Do you have any idea how many degrees I have in Nutrition Science?

See, I’m HIGH PROTEIN — like, the gym bro of the plant world. I’m literally screaming “Excellent meat alternative!” but nooo… you want someone with feathers.

I also do hormonal support work — yes, darling, I have phytoestrogens, which help balance things out. But do I get credit? Nope. Chicken takes the spotlight again.

Iron? Check. Great for anemia prevention. And don’t even get me started on my bone-strengthening calcium and magnesium. While chicken just… well… stands there being chewy.

Oh, and fiber? Yeah, I’ve got loads. I help with digestion and keep you feeling full. Meanwhile, your beloved chicken is just… protein and oil.

Low fat? Yep. Heart-healthy, weight-friendly — basically the dietitian’s dream guy.

But still… I’m left in the pantry, waiting, while you swipe right on chicken every. single. time.

So here’s my final plea — next time you’re cooking, give me a chance. I’m not just a side character in your biryani; I’m the main hero you’ve been ignoring.

Yours truly,
Mr. Soya Bean — The Underappreciated Protein King 🫘👑

Common Causes of Bloating and Natural Ways to Feel Better:-

Common Causes of Bloating

Overeating: Eating large meals, especially foods high in fiber or fats, can lead to excessive gas and bloating.

Swallowing Air: Drinking through straws, chewing gum, or talking while eating can increase air intake and lead to bloating.

Food Intolerances : Dairy products, gluten, and certain sugars are common culprits for individuals with sensitivities.

Constipation: When waste builds up in the intestines, it can cause a feeling of fullness and bloating.

Hormonal Changes: Women may experience bloating during menstrual cycles due to hormonal fluctuations.

There are several simple, natural remedies to help ease bloating and make you feel more comfortable.

Ginger Tea

Ginger is a well-known digestive aid, often used to reduce gas and bloating. Its anti-inflammatory properties help relax the intestines and reduce bloating. Simply steep fresh ginger slices in hot water for 5-10 minutes, add a dash of honey or lemon if desired, and enjoy.

Peppermint Oil or Peppermint Tea

Peppermint contains menthol, which has antispasmodic properties that help relax the digestive muscles, easing gas buildup and bloating. Peppermint tea is a convenient option, but a few drops of peppermint oil in water can be equally effective.

Fennel Seeds

Fennel seeds contain compounds that can help expel trapped gas and relax digestive muscles. You can chew a teaspoon of fennel seeds after a meal or make fennel tea by steeping the seeds in hot water for 5 minutes.

Hydration

Drinking plenty of water helps flush out excess sodium and reduces bloating. Aim to drink throughout the day rather than all at once to prevent your stomach from becoming overfilled.

Probiotics

Foods rich in probiotics, like yogurt, kefir, and kimchi, support gut health and promote regular digestion. Probiotics help balance gut bacteria, which can improve digestion and reduce bloating.

Bananas and Potassium-Rich Foods

Foods rich in potassium, like bananas, help counterbalance sodium levels in the body, reducing water retention and bloating. Eating one or two bananas as part of your daily diet may help ease bloating symptoms.

Gentle Exercise

A short walk or gentle yoga after a meal can stimulate the digestive process and prevent bloating. Poses like child’s pose, twists, and cat-cow stretch can be particularly effective.

Avoid Carbonated Drinks

Carbonated drinks trap gas in the digestive system, often leading to bloating. Replacing sodas with herbal teas or plain water can help prevent gas buildup.

Reduce Salt Intake

High sodium levels can cause the body to retain water, leading to bloating. Reducing your salt intake, especially in processed foods, can alleviate bloating symptoms.

When to See a Doctor

If bloating becomes chronic or is accompanied by severe pain, weight loss, vomiting, or changes in bowel movements, it’s essential to seek medical advice. Chronic bloating may indicate underlying health conditions that require professional diagnosis and treatment.

By understanding your body’s needs and making small lifestyle adjustments, you can minimize bloating and maintain digestive comfort.

Weight Management Guide - 2025

1. Focus on a Balanced Diet

The foundation of any successful weight loss plan is a healthy, balanced diet. This doesn’t mean starving yourself or following extreme fad diets, but instead, prioritizing nutritious foods. Aim for:

•High-protein meals to keep you full longer.
•Plenty of vegetables for fiber and vitamins.
•Whole grains instead of refined carbs.
•Avoiding sugary snacks and beverages.

2. Get Active with Exercise You Enjoy
Exercise is a crucial part of any weight loss plan. The key is finding activities you enjoy so that you’ll stick with them. For quick results, try a combination of:

•Cardio exercises like running, cycling, or swimming.
•Strength training to build muscle and burn calories even at rest.
•Group classes or sports to make fitness fun.

3. Stay Consistent with a Routine
Quick results come from consistent effort. Establish a routine that includes meal prepping, regular workout schedules, and mindful habits. Keeping a food diary or tracking your workouts can also help you stay on track.
For example, to prepare for his role in Guardians of the Galaxy, Chris Pratt lost 60 pounds in six months by sticking to a rigorous workout schedule and a high-protein diet.

4. Prioritize Mental Health
Weight loss isn’t just a physical journey—it’s a mental one too. Managing stress, practicing selfcare and cultivating a positive mindset can prevent emotional eating and burnout.

5. Set Realistic Goals
While quick results are possible, it’s important to set realistic and sustainable goals. Aim to lose 1-2 pounds per week through a combination of diet and exercise. Rapid weight loss often leads to regaining the weight, so focus on making lifestyle changes that you can maintain long-term.
