We are happy to share our most recent study, "The Hypoxia-Induced Chromatin Reader ZMYND8 Drives HIF-Dependent Metabolic Rewiring in Breast Cancer," which was published in JBC. In this study, we examined how the epigenetic factor ZMYND8 contributes to the metabolome rewiring of breast cancer. Our finding suggests that epigenetic factors in cancer cells can modulate the tumor microenvironment by modulating the metabolic status of cancer cells.
Many congratulations to Sandhik and Atanu for successfully steering the project towards completion. Congratulations to Indrakshi and Wasim for their contribution to this work.

We are happy to announce our latest publication of Ms. Sinjini Dhang and Mr. Atanu Mondal entitled โ€œMetformin inhibits the histone methyltransferase CARM1 and attenuates H3 histone methylation during gluconeogenesis,โ€ published in the .
The article depicts how the well-known drug metformin inhibits the epigenetic regulator CARM1, leading to a reduction in histone methylation. This process subsequently suppresses gluconeogenic genes, resulting in decreased glucose production in the liver.
We are delighted to share the cover art that has been selected for the publication in the Journal has been created by Atanu Mondal.

Our latest publication in the journal of BBA-Gene Regulatory Mechanism focuses on a very dynamic post-translational modification called ubiquitination, which impacts DNA replication, repair, and transcription. The review elucidates the intricate orchestration of histone ubiquitination impacting diverse cellular functions and disease pathogenesis and provides insights into the current challenges of targeting them for therapeutic interventions.

We congratulate our collaborators Dr. Anirban Dasgupta, Mr. Sayan Gupta, and Prof. Siddhartha Roy, and our pre-doc student Mr. Sandhik Nandi along with Prof. Chandrima Das for the publication.

Cheers to all...!!

One of our latest publications is a book chapter by our pre-graduate students Mr. Sandhik Nandi, and Mr. Atanu Mondal, and one of the prosperous dissertation students Mr. Aritra Ghosh, which was published in the prestigious Journal of Advances in Cancer Research.

The book chapter dealt with mostly the non-coding part of the genome and mainly focused on lncRNAs, which regulate various physiological processes and have been reported to be involved in several human pathologies ranging from neurodegenerative disease to cancer. The chapter categorically portrayed the role of significant lncRNAs in the outcomes of cancer drug resistance.

We thank the insightful help and constructive suggestions of Dr. Shravanti Mukherjee in this study.

We are happy to announce our latest publication of Mr. Vipin Singh, Mr. Sandhik Nandi, and Dr. Santanu Adhikary on the Epigenetic reprogramming of T cells, that got published in the prestigious journal of .

In this study, it has been shown that T cells, crucial in cancer immunotherapy, undergo various histone modifications and DNA methylation changes. This review explores epigenetic mechanisms in cancer immune response and their role in resistance. Understanding T cell epigenetic regulation could lead to innovative strategies to overcome drug resistance and improve cancer immunotherapy efficacy.

We are grateful to Dr. Siddhartha Roy, and Dr. Shravanti Mukherjee for their important contributions towards the study's objectives.

T cells, a key component of cancer immunotherapy, undergo a variety of histone modifications and DNA methylation changes since their bone marrow progenitor stages before developing into CD8+ and CD4+ T cells. These T cell types can be categorized into distinct subtypes based on their functionality a...
