Yet another interesting case # female patient presented with a complaint of ulcer on the lateral border of tongue due to which she was unable to speak and eat properly since 1month
On examination and white ulcerated lesion is seen on the right lateral border of the tongue extending from back of tongue to 44.
It was further noticed that the whitekeratotic patch was more severe irt to the wisdom tooth.
*Notice the angulation of 48(wisdom tooth)
Treatment plan #
It was decided to remove the wisdom tooth which looks to be the causative factor for the same.
A biospy of the lesion was further done inorder to get the definitive diagnosis.
Differential diagnosis #
Traumatic keratosis with ulceration
Leukoplakia/erythroplakia
Squamous cell carcinoma
The samples wer sent for histopathology and revealed epithelial hyperplasia with hyperkeratosis .
Though followup is need to be done but patient is asymptomatic and is comfortable at the present scenario smiles dental clinic
