OPTIMUM HEALTH & WEALTH
Health is the actual wealth. Maintaining optimum health is the real wealth. Today Health & Wellness industry is one of the fastest growing and booming industries in the world. It is almost 1.3 trillion dollar industry globally and about 15000 crores in India.
It was mainly after the pandemic that the health consciousness has increased among the masses. People, especially the younger generation is more concerned about their fitness levels and immunity.
At the same time there has been an increase in the lifestyle diseases. Due to fast life, people seldom get the time to eat a balanced meal peacefully. They mainly depend on fast food and junk food with high calories, simple carbohydrates, trans fat and high sugar. They lack in protein, vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber, complex carbohydrate and good fats. Moreover most of us practice a sedentary life style.
This has resulted in obesity, diabetes, joint problems, COPD, heart problems, gut health challenges and many more. Besides, lots of people are suffering from severe stress due to work culture imbalances.
It is at this crossroad that several stake holders of the Health & Wellness industry has emerged with different solutions. They can be divided into the following:-
1. Hospitals, Nursing homes, various medical clinics, Doctors, hospital staffs, etc.
2. Pharmaceutical Companies, medical equipment manufactures and associated people.
3. Gyms, yoga centers, health coaches etc.
4. Health and Weight management companies.
5. Dieticians and Nutritionist.
The first two are in curative field and treats people after they are sick. They are minting money as most of the patients are in helpless condition and has to abide by the doctor’s advice. The medical expenses has been sky rocketing and has become a real challenge for normal people.
The last three provide partial solutions for preventive health challenges. However there is no one providing a holistic solution for optimal health. Gyms and Yoga centers help people in doing physical exercises. Dieticians provide clients with diet charts. But in most of the cases the diet charts are unrealistic. They are theoretically correct but practically very difficult to follow. Moreover, most of the dieticians do not explain to their clients about the method of cooking to be followed for retention of nutrients.
It is in this context that I am starting a course on optimum health and wealth, where I shall come up with holistic solutions, easy to follow for everyone from all walks of life. It is my sincere endeavor to reach maximum families with the mission of optimum health and wealth.
I start by mentioning the 5 pillars of optimum health:-
1. Balanced diet as per RDA.
2. Exercise
3. Adequate Rest
4. Positive & Stress free mental attitude
5. Supplementation
The details of each shall be discussed in subsequent posts.
