Parampara Exhibitions are today the most sought after exhibitions in Kolkata,both for the participants and for the visitors.The 1st Parampara exhibition was started in the year 2000 by the Rotary club of calcutta chowrenghee,as a fundraiser for their various projects targeting the under privileged of society.All the funds raised from these exhibitions have been going for a noble cause,be it the Gi
ft of Life Project for paediatric heart surgeries,building of toilets and tube wells for health and sanitation,making roads,parks and schools for better education and environment ,providing free cataract surgeries and hospital equipment and providing aids to impoverished parts of Africa. The Parampara group of exhibitions take place in one of the 5 star properties of kolkata and its aim is to provide a platform for a lot of talented individuals who work from their homes,the fashion school graduates looking for a chance to showcase their products and those very talented craftsmen who are at a loss as to where they could sell their stylised crafts. To be a part of Parampara the participant goes through a screening process for quality and product range by a team of the club members and the participation is open to local talent as well as participants from out of Kolkata and India.Rotary club of calcutta chowrenghee was the pioneer for organising an exhibition where participnats were from all over India.The 1st exhibition in the year 2000 was so well received that the club introduced two more exhibitions,Parmapara boulevard-pre rakhi and Parampara Pret - pre diwali. For participation in any of the Parampara exhibitions,one has to apply at least 4 months in advance and the exhibition gets sold out within a few days of screening.The club organisers keep getting calls even till 2 days before the exhibition,requesting for stall space,but unfortunately they have to be turned down. From its very first exhibition in 2000,the Rotary chowrenghee members have ensured that each Parampara exhibition must have 50% new participants and 60% of the participants must be from out of Kolkata.This is the reason why visitors throng all Parampara exhibitions as there is always a lot of new products on display and most importantly our participants go back totally satisfied.It is very easy to fill up stalls but very difficult to get the best participants who are extremely impressed with the organisation and the footfall,culminating into excellent sales.Of late the Parampara exhibitions boast of having participants,from USA,London,Hongkong and other parts of the world. Applications for the April,the pre rakhi and the pre diwali exhibitions are taken over email,4 months prior to the event,with product pics for any participant applying from out of Kolkata.
