ERCP involves endoscopic removal of stone from Bile duct.
1st performed in 1968.
Dr. Peter Benjamin Cotton is known as the father of ERCP.
It was one of very important medical procedures invented.
Before ERCP, surgery was the only option for CBD stone removal.
With advancement in the Procedure, we can now remove large stones by endoscopy.

Here is a patient with large CBD stone ( 14 mm ) Balloon dilatation of sphincter followed by stone removal was done.
