Association of Bengal Collaborators for Development

Association of Bengal Collaborators for Development ABCD is the official agency for relief and development under the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of West Bengal.

ABCD started its journey as a Regional Forum in 1985. This forum was initiated as a common platform where all the Diocesan Social Service Societies (DSSS) to come together and interact. Earlier, it was the Diocesan Directors forum; and amongst them one person was selected as secretary to convene the meetings. In 1987 the Forum was renamed the ‘Association of Bengal Collaborators for Development” (ABCD). It is the official agency for relief and development under the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of West Bengal, India.
